I got my Supersonic Red Prime Advanced 1 month ago after 2 months of wait. Prius Prime is quite hard to find in Florida .Did not get any deal at all. I literally had to beg them to pre order it for me. Have Pro pack offered by dealership - window tint, door edge guards , all weather floor mats/liner, alloy wheel locks, nitrogen air etc. Took it to auto detailing shop for ceramic pro 9H coating -Gold package ( lifetime protection ). On second day after I bought my car, I hit my front tire on a curb and popped out 1 of the rear hubcaps and had to replace a new one. lol. After that incident ( or merely a coincidence ) I noticed creaking or rattling noise coming from the rear passenger side every time I release the brake pedal when after a full stop, like on a traffic lights or parked for a long time. Sounds like it's needing some lubricant... Brought it to the dealership, they drove it around and could not reproduce the noise. They simply told me it's a typical Prius noise and I just have to get use to it (???) ...and if something really goes wrong , the indicator light should show on the dashboard. I never heard that noise on my Civic until it reached 100,000+ miles. I'm surprised that they just haphazardly concluded it's a normal Prius noise without even checking it out thoroughly. I noticed it's getting more consistent everyday. Otherwise, I love this car so much ! Super smooth and quiet ride with awesome technology. Does anyone of you guys experience similar issue or it's just me? Thanks!

Thanks for your response , bisco!

Would it void my warranty if I have it checked by a non Toyota mechanic ?

As long as you're confident that your mechanic is knowledgeable and competent, the warranty should not be voided by any of their work.

No, that's what the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act is for:

Do I have to use the dealer for repairs and maintenance to keep my warranty in effect?

No. An independent mechanic, a retail chain shop, or even you yourself can do routine maintenance and repairs on your vehicle. In fact, the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, which is enforced by the FTC, makes it illegal for manufacturers or dealers to claim that your warranty is void or to deny coverage under your warranty simply because someone other than the dealer did the work. The manufacturer or dealer can, however, require consumers to use select repair facilities if the repair services are provided to consumers free of charge under the warranty.

That said, there may be certain situations where a repair may not be covered. For example, if you or your mechanic replaced a belt improperly and your engine is damaged as a result, your manufacturer or dealer may deny responsibility for fixing the engine under the warranty. However, according to the FTC, the manufacturer or dealer must be able to demonstrate that it was the improper belt replacement — rather than some other defect — that caused the damage to your engine. The warranty would still be in effect for other parts of your car.

    Thanks for all your infos!

I had a hard time looking for Prius Prime in Florida, that means, not much of this kind in Fl ...My car was shipped all the way from Japan to the dealership. The Toyota mechanic who checked my car has never driven a Prius Prime in his entire life ...seriously... I doubt it if any local mechanic in Florida has even seen a prime before. LOL. I have an added Platinum Coverage Plan which supposedly covers the first 10 years/100,000 miles and any issues outside the regular warranty. But if no one knows what's going on , that would be quite frustrating. I'll take my car to Tampa for second opinion. Talk to you guys later !
