I tried that now, doesn't seem to work. Copied the url from the other page, went into editor in my posting, deleted the (massive) link, put the cursor where I wanted the link, clicked that symbol, pasted the link. It persists as a tome. :(

Maybe I'm missing something? There is a fix, but can't recall what.

Technical difficulties aside, that's a damn timely article, love it.

I copy the URL from the Jalopnik page. I did that in my previous post.

From the address bar, at the new page, or the link in the Prime article page? I did the first, not pretty. Strange, it works normally: I'll copy address from address bar, paste in body of text. No problem. Need to do something different at Jalopnik site I surmise, but I'm not getting my 2 brain cells about the mechanics of doing it.

Don't paste the URL directly into the text body. Instead, put in some text to use as the displayed linked (the article title is a good choice, but you can also make up your own), select/highlight that text, then use the 'chain' icon (pointed at in his included image at post #37) to attach the URL to that selected text.

12 hours. I barely missed it yesterday, where the edit button was still present when I opened the tab, but didn't reread and decide to edit it until a few minutes later, after the 12 hour time limit.

Yeah I did that. At least I think I did. I got the URL in Windows Clipboard (on deck for a paste) then:

I opened the posting editor, deleted the (bad, verbose) link, positioned the cursor, clicked that link icon, pasted, and it still was the verbose link.

I'll try it again ('course it'll work this time...):

nope, it blew up again. Deleted it. (n)

I'm missing something fundamental I'm sure. Because I've seen what you describe, a word, say "this", and it's blue, in fact a link.

    Try again:

    this

    Hah, got it!!!!!

That's the baby, many thanks. I missed the bit about typing a bit of text and highlighting it.

Harumph!! Or you may simply fall off the mountain, which if the car contained Murdoch, would make it a better world, alas, at the loss of a fine automobile!!
