So I got a sunroof this past Friday in my Prime.
It took 5 hours for the shop to install it.
It cost exactly $1300 even. They gave me the 'dealer' price. The place I went to (Classic Soft Trim) usually only does dealership mods on cars like sunroofs and heated seats, not usually retail.
I took it to the car wash and pressure washed all around. No leaks of course. These aren't the same sunroofs you older guys had 20 years ago. Lol. Not to mention the sunroof is guaranteed for the life of the car to not leak.

Features: Vent position(back edge tips up), Fully open(glass slides into car), noise reducing sill pops up when open, sunroof closes when the car is turned off(press button to stay open), buttons on controller glow red so you can see them in the dark

i can't tell for sure, but gen 4 roof looks like it might be a bit easier to do than previous.
    that's a great price imo.

I would guess so. It doesn't have the ripple running to the back like the older tick shaped Priuses. lol

I know some coal rollers consider the Prius a pest, but that is pretty harsh! :D

Had a sunroof on my 16, missed the sunglasses storage bin, don’t have the sunroof on the prime, do enjoy the sunglasses bin, that looks like a win-win.

Not mentioning the weight and loss of structural stability.

As many doughnuts as I do in the winter, I don't expect to be rolling over anytime with this low center of gravity. Also the sunroof adds a reenforced frame into the roof. Not quite a roll bar but it probably helps. Hahaha

Is the headliner still the Toyota OEM material ? Does the covering on the slider part match ? Have an 03 Chevy with sunroof that sits outside. No problems yet.

I don't see the extension cord running from the balcony to your charge port. :)

In the interior photo that shows the shade drawn, it looks like the two recessed areas in the headliner (that allow backseat passengers more headroom) are still there after the sunroof install. Was the size of the recesses lessened in any way? Was there any downside in as far as headroom goes in the front or back seats, or any downside at all to whatever they had to do as far as changing the thickness and contours of the headliner? Thanks!

It looks so nice. I wonder if there is any aftermarket solar roof...

I was wondering that, too. But I think I read on here somewhere that the problem is the solar roof not meeting federal crash standards. It seems like there would be a very limited market for it, too. Maybe if they keep this body style long enough.
