    Hello,
I was wondering if anyone here has replaced their catalytic converter and exhaust manifold gasket? (can hear the gasket leaking also) I can't find much online. I found a direct replacement cat off partsgeek and plan on doing it myself, the dealership or "stealership" wants 1900.00 yes NINETEENHUNDRED for it. Um no.
I'm a service tech and know my way around vehicles but I was just wondering what I'm up against, I need to have this thing repaired in the same day & it can't sit since it's my main mode of transportation.
    Anyway, thanks

I think the best thing to do is order a new catalytic converter online (Ebay has them for $50) and cut out the old one. You can remove the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold and where it connects to the muffler back in front of the rear passenger side wheel. Cut out the old catalytic converter after measuring your new one for fitness. I make a straight line on the outside area you will cut out so you can weld it back on straight. This makes the installation much easier.

Let me guess, you have a DTC of "P0420", catalyst efficiency below.... whatever.

The CAUSE is most likely the leaking exhaust manifold gasket, do that FIRST.
