Anyone done this on a 4th gen Prius? This is also needed if you want to tap into your audio/video feed to do the phone mirroring (exactly as Beat Sonic).

Do you have a 2016 Prius Three or a Prime? You posted in the Prime thread.
The answer should be in the Navigation Manual that came with your car. My 2017 does not have navigation.
I know the Prime has a different navigation manual for each screen size.

Easy to do. I reported so the mods can move.
You can click report on the first post too, asking them to move to Gen 4.
Sorry, I did not download the Nav manual. There appear to be 2 different ones. You can find them online here.

So basically the logic of this mod is this:

Toyota disable certain functions on the head unit (gray out) when the vehicle travels > 5mph or so. This is for safety reason (although other manufacturers don't do this). But if you have the passenger, they don't do the driving yet they can't do anything either (like bluetooth, entering a destination on navi etc, settings, etc.)

Toyota (the car) get the >5mph info via the speed wire and implement the navi lockouts...
So if you cut this wire, no signal so the system think you' are at 0mph and doesn't the lockout.
Run this wire to a switch you can switch it back to stock configuration (after you set all the destination etc). Put it back is import because when the speed sign is cut, your GPS location is also affected. When the system gets the signal back, the GPS location will recalibrate.

If we have the diagram of the connector and which wire is the speed sensor wire is a good start :)

Thanks for the link. I was just looking for a cheap way to enable the Navi lock.
It turns out it’s more than temporary cutting the VSS wire. After 15 secs the car detect gps signal location diff than previous location and it relocks the Navi again. Looks like you need to build a vss signal simulator for this to work.
I found the schematic to do it...cost a few bucks but prob not worth the time to...

Wouldn't a search of "Toyota navigation bypass" show up several results? You just have to find the one for your navigation headunit version.
