Re.'Winter Blend' - we are fortunate here in Oklahoma. We have the option to bypass E Gasoline. I only burn 100% Pure gasoline in all my vehicles- better for the vehicle and more BTU/Gal. so better MPG.

Here it is available from a few sources but usually at a price premium of 50 cents per gallon. I think I paid $2.20 the last time I filled with ethanol gasoline.

I always wondered about the potential mileage gain with 100% gasoline.

There was a study by Consumers report about E85 back in 2011. Essentially the test vehicle lost something like 30% of it's miIeage compared to regular gasoline. It turns out it is no deal at the pump. E10 is a little better but still has to lower gas mileage.

Yeah- it is about the same here. I only burn E Gas when Pure Gas not available. I have heard that using E Gas occasionally will clean some deposits left by the Pure Gas.

I just move to Oklahoma last year from Albuquerque, NM. Could only get eGas there. The Pure Gas here was one of the plus factors about the move...

I use pure gas for our old Farmall 140 tractor, chain saws, & weed eaters.
Lawn mower & irrigation pump get e-Gas along with the vehicles.

    "NICE"->HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...HA

You imply that I lied about the temperature, yeah very nice.
Your life must be pretty barren to spend your time worrying about what the temperature was when I made that drive.

As I said -> I was just very excited that my new Prius could do something like that and I just wanted to share it with my new
Group and how much fun it was also sharing it with my friends - Letting them know how Cool the Prius is.

I am glad I am not you-> I am 70 years old and have had a GREAT life -> and I still can get excited about things .

If you wish you can use the Ignore link in one of their posts to ignore a person.
This sometimes makes things confusing because not only are their posts ignored but quotes of them are too. You see responses without knowing what the ignored person said to trigger it.

@Terry Lee Thompson and @RRxing please quit sniping at each other, or nobody will come out of this smiling. Individually, you're both great guys and the rest of us don't want to lose your valuable input over a few harsh words. It's OK of you both want to ignore each other, but better if you could metaphorically shake hands and get on with things. There are no apologies necessary from either side. Thanks. :censored:

I tried to talk my husband into buying me one for about 10 years! He finally agreed and my first one got totaled by a hail storm. He liked the car so much we got another one. Within a year it got totaled by Hurricane Harvey. My Prime just arrived last week and I am loving it!

Best mileage on a cold start up was on my drive to work about 18-ish miles and averaged 83 MPG, best tank mileage was 66 MPG....

I think I have said this somewhere else but outside temp, where you're driving (terrain) and how fast you drive as well as your driving style all make a big difference. I live in the mountains and drive on roads where I'll be driving 55-65 MPH, commute to work has elevation loss while the drive home is a gain and the fuel economy back and forth proves this.

Bearing in mind I got my new 2017 Prius 2 last October and it was still fairly warm outside on the way home (about 50 miles) I was getting near 70mpg. During the winter or with temps in the 30's-40's driving my standard rural road route of around 25 miles to and from town, I still get around 65mpg, and expect it to increase quite a bit as the weather warms. For the first time since fall its in the upper 70's today and I'l be making a rare 80 mile highway trip, I'll give a trip MPG reading tomorrow.

Last evenings trip give me a Trip average of about 74 mpg. In ECO mode as usual. AC was used (around 80 deg.on the northward leg and down to around 70 degrees on the south return leg. After dark as well with lights on.) The trip average seemed a little optimistic but a solid 70 mpg at least. Used DRCC set to 50-60 mph depending on the area.
