That's an idea! What kind, where do you get it (if you've used some before...)

I just use the light button right above the garage door button. Don't forget to turn it off.

My problem is that I'm usually making a right turn as I'm entering my long driveway and dealing with a 2 button scenario, when I'm usually pretty tired, is more than I'd want to have to handle. I guess the answer to my question is, there ain't no damn lights on my mirror, other than on/off indicator! Thanks for the work around, though!

If you Google "glow in the dark paint" there are about 5 million ideas from pens to making your own. I'd think you would want something bright so a marker pen, while easy, might not work well on the plastic button.

LOL. Requires a chemical reaction. You can't energize it again by shining light on it.

Just to show you Toyota "can" do it right when they "want to," here's a pic of the inside lighting in my 2014 4Runner TEP. You can see the blue LED lighting on the steering wheel buttons, the dash, Album art on the Entune audio, and the large 1/2" tall blue 1, 2, 3 above the rear view mirror for each of the HomeLink buttons.

That's if Homelink is integrated into the console.

If it's in the mirror, it won't be illuminated (it's not a Toyota mirror - it's a GenTex mirror and they supply a lot of manufacturers with the same black auto-dimming mirror with various functions).

That's it, rub in your greater affluence into the crushed soul of an old, dying, heavily sedated and moderately indebted Frenchman, you wretch!!

It's nice that there are three programmable HomeLink control buttons, but it seems odd that Toyota did not have an inexpensive LED put behind each of them.

I had the same problem of finding the right button when approaching or leaving the garage at night. After operating the wrong door on multiple occasions, it dawned on me that I should program the third button -- the one immediately to the right of the green "anti-glare indicator light" -- as my primary garage door button. That way, it's much easier to find in the dark and, by being separated from the other two buttons by the illuminated indicator light, much easier to avoid opening the wrong door in error.

Again, it's not a Toyota mirror - it's a Gentex mirror and they supply many manufacturers.

Did you have any problems with the battery on that cell phone? Seriously, I thought the Edge looked great, but since I always carry my cell in my shirt pocket, I was worried the larger Edge would more easily fall out of the pocket; I already did that to a miserable S3, onto concrete; ouch!!

I understand that... but one would expect that Toyota is a big enough customer that it could influence Gentex's design. Heck, there already is power to the mirror for the dimming circuitry, it just should not be a big deal for Gentex to add some kind of lighting to assist in finding the controls in the dark -- for all of their OEM customers.

The mirror on my 2009 GM vehicle had lighted buttons on the mirror. Maybe it's a patent issue.

Toyota is only one of many worldwide manufacturers using those products.

Yup, while on vac kay last year out west (US 2 trip) The phone popped out of my shirt pocket and smashed onto the concrete below and shattered the screen into many spiderweb designs, phone still worked though. So I called T-Mobile's Jump program and got a replacement phone waiting for me when I finished my vac kay at home. The replacement phone cost $175.00.

I charge my phone overnight and keep it plugged in until I leave for work, I don't use the phone part very much because we are not allowed to talk on the phone while we are cashiering at Kroger, but a neighbor of mine has the same phone as me ( I gave her the by one get one free phone deal) And she's on my account so we get the senior 55+ $60.00 all you can "eat" feature on T-Mobile, she pays me $30.00 /mo she was on Metro PCS at $40.00 /mo so she's saving $10.00/mo Long story short, she is always complaining that her battery dies frequently but she's on the phone a lot.

Cool! I'm a blabaholic on my phone: I frequently answer IT client calls on the road, or have to yell at my best friend due to his psychotic "Orange Monkey" support!! My battery holds up fine, esp. trickle charging in car with IQ pad. This one hasn't had a Pocket Lethal Drop yet, although I think the larger model would be tempting fate!
