Has anyone tinted with the gold-colored solar tint you see on a lot of buildings? Thinking about doing it to mine. Not really because I live where it is super sunny, but it would just distinguish my car a little more and possibly reduce inside temperatures during the summer.

Anyone having issues with ghosting in the rear view mirror? I just got mines tinted about 2.5 weeks ago and I'm experiencing light refraction problems at night.

Reflectivity is proportional to "emissivity" -- i.e., not only will a shiny surface reflect heat, it will emit less heat.

Of course, I don't recall New Hampshire having anything like the climate of Death Valley, but maybe gold windows will be the next trend. Probably will look great during peak foliage season in October.

    Send along a picture.

If you look carefully, each 'ripple' you see is actually on the defroster lead. The inside of the window is not flat so the window tinting has to follow the contour around each lead...hence the ghosting

In Texas, we have Executive Motor Sports which can do limo on the back windows(Back Door and Glass) and state legal on front windows for $185 with a lifetime Warranty. I had it done on my previous Prius, but this one came with tinted windows so I am happy with that.

I got the dealer to throw in the tint at no charge. The two front windows are tinted with 20% and the rear ones with 30%.

I have my windows tinted. People who live in places where it is sunny most of the time think they need it but when you drive on a sunny day with snow on the ground it really helps up north. I especially like the rear window tinted because of tailgaters. If you aren't being taigated you aren't a real Prius driver. Lol

Got mine tinted. Makes the car look so much better and cuts down on glare and helps keep the car cool inside.

Here in Maine front windshield can only be tinted on the top 4" and that won't cover the camera. Also it is GPS friendly so says the dealer on his brand.

You know you got color stable when you see the little 3M logos. I love color stable because gives a dark black with a hint of dark blue.
Blocks out alot of heat! I had other films in my other cars but cant go wrong with CS. somewhat cheap and effective! I paid $500 Full entire car

Wish I could get my car tinted. NYS tint laws are being strictly enforced when having to get your NYS inspection. Windows have to allow in at least 70% of all light. I saw how light the tint was that is legal and it barely has any tint at all. VERY disappointing. I was looking to do 35% all around.
Anyone know any ways around it?

    Removable tint ?

Some of those shade thingys that are attached to the inside,, with suction cups, or wire hangers

In Ma, the tint gets tested with your yearly safety inspection.

That's what NYS does now. How dark can you legally go with tin in MA?

I thought about those suction cup things but they look so cheesy in comparison to regular tint job. I want tints as much for the aesthetic as I do functionality.
