Glad to hear that you got things worked out and we're able to make your purchase.
Any idea about how long it took you to disassemble/reassemble the pack?

If it wasn't for that one connector I forgot probably 4 hours total. With that, closer to 5 start to finish.

I spent the better part of the day at it only because I didn't need to hurry and could pay greater attention to detail if I took my time. This worked well since the kit didn't come with directions. I did text 2k1toaster with a question and he informed me that there is a downloadable.pdf manual but I couldn't get it to download for some reason. In the end it really just wasn't necessary for me. I also took breaks to sail my RC sailboat in the river and have a wonderful lunch prepared by my lovely wife. IMG_20180114_171159.jpg

One of our experts here @ericbecky has put over 3000 miles on a pack while carefully monitoring. He has found absolutely no issues.

Another Prius through the blizzard day last weekend. Stayed on the groomers since we were skiing with some out-of-staters but still had a great day. The Prius loves the air at 10k ft above sea level.

BTW, the battery pack I got from you is working perfectly and I am not sure if I can believe the MPG calculator in the MFD because when I am in 30 to 50 mph traffic the graph shows me getting around 70mpg could this possibly be correct? During high speed freeway driving, it shows around 45mpg which I think is about right.

Absolutely. In the same circumstances and even up to 62 mph I often see 3.5 - 2.5 L/100 km (67 - 94 (US) MPG) on the instantaneous consumption meter.

I've always wanted an Amphicar ever since I saw Bill Nye drive one.

Yep, that just means you're back up to tip-top shape. Your average tanks should be more reasonable/sane in the 45mpg to 52mpg range after a few dozen bladder fillups and measurements.

Well well, it's been a year and a half and the toaster battery is still working fine! It's easy to forget that it's not an original battery since I never see it. I just rarely think about it. I am impressed. That said, I called my local Toyota dealer here in Traverse City and inquired about a new battery and they said $1950. I can't help wondering if the toaster alternative had anything to do with that. I still like the alternative better as I suspect it stays more evenly cool due to better air flow through the pack.

I have an Amphicar on the rotisserie right now and it will be a real sweetheart when done if you are seriously interested.

The pricing on Toyota batteries has been near this (or less) for a few years now.
Just depends heavily on the whim of your local dealership.
What may have affected it was the used market from big industrial-sized players like Dorman and Cardone. Not individuals like besthybridbatteries.
