Around here, ethanol-free is about $.50 per gallon more expensive. We use it in our 1970 tractor, chainsaw, wood splitter, etc. Many manufacturers of 2-stroke equipment are strongly recommending ethanol-free fuel.
You cat looks for a station here.
Ethanol-free gas stations in the U.S. and Canada

You might want to call the station first, though. Last year they listed a station that did not carry it. They now carry the fuel. though.

I'm I big fan of renewable energy. Ethanol sounds like a great idea. But there is nothing like Dino Power... layers upon layers of carbon decay, heated and compressed and distilled into liquid gold. I read somewhere that it would take a team of 30 men working at full capacity to equal the power in one modern automobile.

    Back to topic..

The LDA or LKA very subtle. It's a gentle tugg. Put the phone down or you mss it. Like yoga class. The LDA and BSM are different but related programs on the Prius. Both functions are working very well my 2016.

About one dollar per gallon more. I did find a station in Buffalo, NY that only charged about a thirty cent premium, but I don't live there. The local Mirabito stations here in the Binghamton, NY area charge $3.399, about 90 cents more. A station in Loveville, MD (near my current home) charges $2.999 a gallon. This represents a 70 cent bump.
My (Prime) worry is about the separation of the mixed fuel as it sits unused for long periods of time. Presumably, the movement of the car will encourage agitation and re-mixing of the fuels, but I don't want to test it out. The water absorption by hygroscopic methanol can be countered by keeping the tank full, allowing minimal introduction of moisture-laden air for the alcohol to slurp up.
Once I remove need for my long-trip driving, by selling the MD home, I anticipate long periods of exclusive grid power usage punctuated by the occasional trip to visit remotely located relatives and friends.

I understand... but... my screen is telling me that the lane departure assist is OFF. I have yet to find how to turn it ON. The warning beep and the picture on the screen are working just fine. They turn on and off using the appropriate button as advertised. But the picture of the steering wheel indicating that the steering assist is operating does not appear. And I cannot find the magic incantation to turn it on anywhere.

does toyota recommend refreshing the fuel every 6 months, as they did in the pip? i just throw it in hv until it's almost gone, before crossing the 6 month limit.

That is not necessarily true. My 2017.0 Trim Two has MDA but no BSM. They have now apparently added it to the 2017.5 Prius Two, though.

Baa... Baa... Do I feel sheepish. I reread the manual, for the umpteenth time, and found the control for the steering assist. Sure enough, it was off. All is right with the world again. Pay no attention to my previous comments on LDA.

The manual for the Gen 4 Prius is complex and the Prime splits ir up even further with manuals for the two screen sizes.

Hi All. My LDA is intermittent. sometimes it is working other times not. I can switch it on & off from the steeriing wheel and adjust the sensitivity. No Issues. But the dashboard indicator does NOT go on of off when i turn it on/off from the steering wheel control.
Am I missing something?? I gather it is user error but dmaned if I can figure it out.
    THanks

First of all, you have a Gen 3 Prius, not a Gen 4.
If the flexible clock spring in the steering wheel does bad, some of the steering wheel controls can quit working or become intermittent, especially of they worked previously. It also controls connections to the steering wheel airbag, so safety may be compromised.
People have found a Toyota part works more reliably than an aftermarket one.

my friend. i have a prius prime advanced 2017. i had a 2015 gen 3 but just traded it (maybe my prfile is out of fdate ?). for the 17. Now that we have that in order, lets move ion.. not a clockspring as the display reflects the LDA changes (on or off )but the idiot light on the lower right never goes out. So lets continue the discussion from there. sorry abouut not providing enought info

Sorry, I was going on Profile information. It is possible the Prime acts differently than the Gen 4, though.

Perhaps they changed the colour for the Prime. Tideland has a Gen 4.

well i like this feature , i have set it at max sensibility , not too annoying but it teach you how easily we can get distracted by little things.

I get distracted by all the unnecessary radar cruise control popups, most of which cannot be disabled. It is a safety concern IMHO.

once again RTFM... the steering wheel LDA switch overrides the display functions. you can set display to on and high sensitivity but if the steering wheel switch is in the improper the changes wont take effect

I recently purchased a 2016 Prius touring three and LDA does not function the same as the rental 2021 Prius base I drove this weekend. The 2021 was much more sensitive and I would like my 2016 to be as sensitive. I also went into the settings and set the sensitivity to “high” on my 2016 with no real change. Does anyone know if there’s a way to update my software to be more sensitive on my 2016? Is the hardware the same in both years?
    Thanks!
