    My data for 2013:

    Total mileage on vehicle: 26250
    2013 miles: 17817
    MFD Mileage: not recorded
    Calculated mileage: 49.1
    Total amount of fuel: 363.21

Remarks: I've improved the mileage to the mid 50's by inflating the tires to 42/40 and taking the car over from my wife. She's a bit of a leadfoot.

    And one lifetime graph:

The vertical lines represent years. PR = personal record.

The average range over the last 100 tanks is 568 miles. Average price paid per gallon is $3.29. Annualized cost savings over a car that gets 23 mpg is $1,214.

@rokibler: The vertical lines are not representing the start of the calendar year correct? Your graph is very nice and it can be seen that there is about 10 MPG difference between summer and winter.

Correct. The vertical lines represent yearly markers from when I bought the car, i.e. September 18, 2010.

    Comment:
    -----------------
Last winter was really tough on my MPG - and it dropped a tad . I'm driving mainly in Maryland near Washington DC. My entire mileage log is on Cleanmpg and Fuelly under HyperDrive One. My higher than normal MPG is mainly due to hypermiling using a Scangauge II. I'm still using my OE Yokohama Avid S33d tires but I 'm looking to replace them this year. My tire pressure is set to 44 psi front and 40 psi rear most of the time - to decrease rolling resistance. During the winter I grill block to increase low speed thermal efficiency of the Prius' ICE. My daily commute is normally 15.8 miles in each direction with a drop of 300 feet elevation in the morning and a climb of 300 feet elevation in late afternoon. I'm burning 10% ethanol gasoline rated at 87 octane.

My lifetime cost per mile would be lower than 5.5 cents/mile but spikes in the cost of gasoline over the last five years has bumped the lifetime cost up a bit. It cost about 16 cents per kwh in my region ( this higher than normal cost per kwh is due to a local tax on electricity by the county government to raise revenue) . Conservatively driven a BEV like a Nissan Leaf can get about 4 miles/kwh and cost about 4 cents per mile to run. However, the lower gas prices over the last 6 months has lowered my Prius gasoline cost to about 4.3 cents per mile ...so currently my Prius is running about the same energy/fuel cost as BEV.

First three years have seen steady decline:

    1. First twelve months (including one Minnesota winter when drops to high 30's) 12,500 miles 49.1 mpg.
    2. Second twelve months (ditto) 11,300 miles 47.6 mpg
    3. Third twelve months 14,700 miles (more highway) 43.1 mpg

Of course the Cooper tires I have run for the past 9 months account for much of the lousy third year numbers. They look like they will last at least 50K so I am sticking with them. Maybe I should pump my tires up to 40-42 psi to help a little.

Data below is for the period from the first time I filled the tank on 9-26-14 until the fill nearest exactly one year later, on 9-28-15.

Total Mileage on Vehicle: 52536 (on 9-28-15)
Total Mileage in That Year: 11433 (Uncorrected)
Fuel Economy (MFD): 60.2 mpg (=11433 miles/total gallons claimed by MFD)
Fuel Economy (Calc'd): 57.1 mpg (=11433 miles/total US gallons pumped)
    MPG Correction Factor: 0.949
    Best Tank MPG: 60.5
    Worst Tank MPG: 54.4
Total Volume of Fuel Purchased: 200.1 US gallons

Remarks: Usage was split roughly equally between short local trips (mostly 10-21 miles one-way) and long (>400 miles one-way) trips. Car still has the cheap Chinese tires installed by dealer so they could claim new tires when selling the car as "certified."

How do you see Total mileage in a year or Fuel Economy (MFD) ? My Prius 2014 does not show this information. It only shows miles driven in past five months! I noticed other people have posted statistics which I don't see in my 2014 model.

Do you keep records for this information or your Prius displays it?

Just a tip, you can get prius fuel consumption statistics from e-nenpi website. All information is crowd sourced by Japanese and constantly updated.
Only problem is, you need to convert to mpg yourself. We used km/L as our indicator here.
    Cheers.

Why do you think it’s getting poor MPG?

I also have a calculated MPG that is about 4 mpg less than the MFD displayed MPG.
Have you checked for the factors many of us use to get higher mpg such as low rolling resistance tires, higher tire pressures, 4-wheel alignment, warm indoor storage to minimize warm up loses, etc?
But a truly major component is driving style: do you have a friend with a Gen 3 Prius? Please consider driving with him/her to see how your mpg will compare with theirs, and also let them drive your car to see what mpg they can obtain when driving your vehicle in its current state. That is the only sure way to separate out the mpg effect of the car from the mpg effect of the driver. It took us well over a year to adjust our driving styles to maximize mpg when driving our 2012 Gen 3 hatchback.
