2017 Prius Prime Color Choice

Great. I know where that is, been there for coffee.

 

Maybe it will be the first Meetup of Minnesota Prime owners.

 

In my case, I didn't like the shades of the blue and red. I didn't like the brown'ish tint to the Titanium. White, black, and dark gray tend to show dirt faster and can be harder to keep clean so I went with classic silver metallic. I think the small black exterior body highlights and black/silver wheel covers look good against the silver. As for interior, the potential for reflections off the moonstone colors onto the windshield caused me choose the black interior. Heck, I can't even stand the reflection of a while piece of paper up on the dash when I'm driving.

 

I would have done the same choice if the Silver Grey was available in my Country

Actually the dirt on the white is very evident, so I went for nanoparticles treatment (silica dioxide). It took me half a day of hard work, but now the car is very easy to clean, and the paint glitters as if it was polished.

For the interiors, personally I have found the black fabric interiors of my Prime very depressing... so I will soon present my Prius with a set of Clazzio light grey covers, I should have them in a couple of weeks - in time for Christmas

 

I went with silver as well. Easier to keep looking clean. No matter the color...the car looks sharp. (Your tree by the garage door needs water).

 

Hi John, Thanks for showing us your car last Sunday. It was very generous of you to meet us in Hastings. I thought the blue a very cool color.but my wife said it looked too turquoise and she liked the red better. She has better color vision so we're going with red. Unfortunately one of each color doesn't work for us. Bill.

 

You're welcome. That red will grow on you. My wife really likes her's, and that isn't a color she had considered until seeing it in person.

 

Was going to say, it is a fact that red cars are more noticeable and all things being equal, are more likely to be ticketed. (My daughter is a cop.)

Sorry, although I am partial to blue the color of the blue prime is "not good" to be polite. If you want to be noticed, get red but you may get the wrong kind of notice.

 

Hi all.....returning to this board after a hiatus. I need to retire my '02 Prius and have been window shopping, the Prime is very attractive price wise now. I really like blue magnetism. It looks gorgeous, but I was wondering how well does it hide dirt and the inevitable scuffs and scratches?

My wife has a white car and unless she ran it through the mud it always looks clean, at least from a distance. My metallic green Prius seems to show the dirt more (but also because the paint is getting faded).

So, is the blue magnetism the kind that demands a run through the carwash every week? Thanks for any insight!

 

yup, I have a $19.99/mo car wash deal that gives me a daily $15.00 car wash so it's a no brainer. the dirt does show up on the lower quarter panels after a snowfall or rain.
