Samsungs dont mesh well with Toyotas I hate to say. Apple is almost as bad when updates occur too. Ill check to see if you phone is compatible all the way with the Prime.

What is the source of that claim?

My old S6 works just fine. Before that, no trouble with my S4 either. I stream music through routinely. The occasional phone call is no big deal either.

That older version of Android may be the source of struggle.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but your phone is not compatible across the board so you will have issues. I can give you a list of compatible phones. This is coming from a Toyota certified guy with his ASE Master. Not that it is a precursor to looking up info but that is what I would do if you brought it in with this concern.

I’m not a phone guy, and don’t know if this makes sense:
    Entune Connect

So, I just bought my wife a car that has Android Auto. All I can say is 'wow'.
Other than the arrogance of 'our system is better', I don't understand why Toyota does not offer this as an option.
The pleasure of Pandora without glitches, amazing Waze or google maps, your choice, access to the google assistant on screen.
It's just light-years better than Entune.
I don't own any Apple devices so I can't speak to that, but that is an option as well.
I still like driving my Prime, but I have to say, the electronics in the Volvo are way better, not to mention 'Pilot Assist' that works really well.
