Have owned the car 12 months and two weeks and rang in the 10,000 mile bell at 1:01pm today (3-28-18). Felt like a milestone for some reason.

Just hit 10,000 yesterday myself (owned 11 months).

Was sad to see my total MPG dip over these past couple months, because early on I was able to use mostly EV, but for the last 3 months, I've had a 6-times-a-week 80+ mile r/t drive with no place to charge during the day. Even still, with nightly charging at home I've been getting about 103-107mph for the drive.

Math was never my strong point but I think I have averaged 250 MPGe over the past 12 months and two weeks. I started out with the tank of gas that came with the car and have only filled up 3 times in the past year...so 4 full tanks of gas.

Just had my free 10k (10.3k to be exact) oil and filter change done at Toyota and it's been just about exactly one year since purchase.

just passed 20k ...just done the toyota care 20k service...henceforth, it looks like the oil changes are on me now...i did ascertain that my oil filter is cartridge and not screw on as some have mentioned...been pondering on the next oil change to go with 5w-30 given I'll be in Arizona /Nevada in August...of course with ambient temps to 110+F)(40-44C) ...will see how the temps go when it gets closer...

Does Toyota recommend a heavier weight oil for higher temperature areas? I would think it would increase engine wear due to the higher viscosity at cold start-up.

A cold start up temp in the summer in AZ/NV will be an ambient temperature of 85-90 for an overnight low...i ran 10w-40 in my 09 prius to prevent burn off and a low volume on the dipstick during the Heat of summer whereas the road temps at the payment were 125F or better...didnt hurt the engine one bit...0w20 in high heat flows like "water"...the 0 is irrelevant in summer as its a winter number...i know of some that run straight 30 weight and 40 weight in summer...again depending on your climate...just like some aircraft...but to each their own ...
