Just a note to say Hi from that crazy guy with the Firebrid project. I've just joined the ranks of Prius c owners with this '14 Prius c two. It is a replacement for my beloved but now totaled 2004 Prius. We have named it Silvia due to its color. So far it has been a kick to drive, being much more nimble than its predecessor.

So this now puts me back into the club owning three different types of Prii:

    2010 Prius three
    2014 Prius c two (replacing the 2004 Gen-II)
2014 Prius v (half of one under the Firebrid body)

My '04 was totaled by a perp fleeing a crime scene. Toyota engineering saved my life. I walked away with just a large diagonal bruise across my chest from the shoulder belt.

That would have been a great donor car to put under the firebird. :D Glad you're okay.

That raises a question that has plagued me a bit. How safe is the Prius C? I drive mine on the interstate quite a bit. Do you think it's as safe as the regular Prius?

To the extent that a small car can be, then yes. It has all of the safety features and body structural elements that I expect as an engineer familiar with automotive design. It is also more nimble than my wife's 2010 Prius.

Maybe don't mention it? We weren't shopping for a hybrid. We just couldn't find a better small car. If the 2018 yaris had been a real update instead of a facelift we probably would have bought that instead.

It did well in the crash tests. Larger and heavier cars did better still. We picked a c because my wife has a lot more confidence when driving very small cars, and I'd rather have her in a safe car that she handles well than a safer car that she isn't going to handle as well.

Not really a reply. Just wanted to say that your User ID is quite possibly the most fantastic User ID on this site. I hope you stay around here.
