Hello everyone, I have an issue that my local toyota dealer will not warranty. My warranty ends in just a few months and noticed my rubber around the windows have falling off. When I questioned them about ti they said that non moving parts are not under warranty?? Well I rolled down the window and the rubber moved in towards the window when the window went past the top of the door.. Isnt that movement? I am so not happy nice person the rubbers are 200$ each. Anyone else have this issue? IMG_0144.jpg IMG_0145.jpg IMG_0146.jpg

This would be part of the "Basic" warranty, which was 36 months or 36,000 miles? Move on?

That's pretty much BS under a standard warranty. Are you talking about an extended warranty like a platinum warranty, because those specifically state that the extended warranty does not cover moving parts and window trim.

Their better argument to deny warranty coverage, assuming that coverage has not expired already (see Mendel's post above) would be that this is a rubber seal and thus subject to normal wear and tear. Not saying they are right, just saying that would be a better basis for denying you coverage.

I purchased the platinum warranty. They told me it extends the factory warranty to 8 years/100k as that is what I wanted to do.

That was your dealership's parts department? That seems very strangely overpriced, assuming it's the correct part, item #1 in the link. (n)

Maybe print out or note the info in the link, see what your source is talking about, if it is indeed the same part. If so, show them the printout and give them grief, lol.

I did call them on that part posted earlier. They were including installation.. I told them I will install it.. then ordered one from the link above as it was still 10$ cheaper even having it shipped. Thanks everyone for the quick replies!

That's about what I seem to remember paying for the ones I replaced on my '05 a few years ago. Not hard to replace. The only hard part with mine is that the old ones had turned to goo and it was a pain to remove the goo from the glass.
