    So it begins....

First things first. I installed a magnetic phone stand, and a Bluetooth Aux converter. JBL system doesn’t sound bad, but fortunately the cheating ex husband left a kicker sub and amp (ha ha) that I will be rehoming in “Betty” tomorrow. I have 6 cans of “raw titanium” Plastidip and twice as many cans of black. I’m waiting for a sunny day to start that. Body/paint work is scheduled in a few weeks for the bumper, hood and touch ups. I found a set of Scion TC 17” wheels for $100 that are so tempting. I’m also contempating some new headlights and taillights (which are damaged as well). Tinted windows and a sharks fin is on the list. Thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Dig the tail option, I was looking into those for mine as well!

On the Headlight route - I do know the ones you posted are ones that are only compatible if you have Halogen headlights, not the OEM HID, so if you do have HID, your stuck with just the stock type lenses, but you could always tint them with vinyl or spray yourself.

I was thinking that it was a good deal on the wheels. I’m picking them up this weekend. In the meantime I’ve popped of the halos and in the process of painting those wheels. Also tinkering this week with installing a LOC and hooking up an amp & sub that I have lying around. I will replace all of it someday.

I haven’t even looked to see what I have but I imagine whatever came standard?? Why would it state plug and play?? Be patient with me, I can be dumb. Learning as I go. Thanks so much for your help, it’s greatly appreciated. I can post a link yet.

I think I answered my own question. I had the HIDs but I think I have a solution....

I have to replace the headlights due to some damage to the mounting, I would love to have the smoked ones. I would rather not tint them. Assuming this would work, which option do you like better? If it works I should able to post links.

They state it's plug and play because Prius came with either Halogen or HID Headlights. From what I remember (other please correct if Im wrong), any 2nd Gen Prius that has the OEM Fog lights has HID Headlights, where if you didn't have the OEM Fog lights, you have Halogen.

Since you have the OEM Fogs, you would need HID lenses. Such as these - New Pair Set HID Headlight Headlamp Lens Housing Assembly for 06-09 Toyota Prius | eBay

Those adapters you posted are for using the H4 Halogen bulb in a HID Socket I believe.

Is it legal to have tinted headlights in your area? Where I live you can be pulled over & ticketed for smoked heads or tails, and you have to fix the issue before you can pay your fine, too.

I have the oem dogs and HIDs. If I’m not mistaken the headlight replacement does not include the H4 bulbs. If I read correctly the adapters are for using HID bulbs in H4 housings without having to modify them. I can use my hid bulbs I’m a little ways off from making my decision so I will research a little more. Thank you

Oh your right. I read the description on that picture and it does say to use your HID bulbs in a h4 housing. You’d still have to figure out where the ballast could go as it mounts to the headlight I believe. Now I’m intrigued lol.

So yesterday after working 8 hours in my lab, I decided to relieve some stress and work on my audio. Since I only have about $40 in the project (thanks to the Ex’s abandonment of his amp and sub) I decided to do a rough install just to see if this method works. If it does then I will post a much need how to post in audio. I have a JBL with Nav. If all goes well I will see if I can pretty up the amp and build a new sub enclosure. I’ll replace all the speakers eventually. It’s ugly right now but progress. Any advice is appreciated.

Gotcha! Thanks for that. I can still modify it if I get it cracked open? I’ve seen some crazy stuff that justdidit accomplishes. I talked to a cop friend and he said to go for it. It’s not my only car so I have all the time to tinker.

Holy Crap!! I friggin did it (with my own two hands) and it works!! I found the allusive ACC wire on the JBL, installed the LOC to the JBL amp, installed the new amp/sub. I haven’t bolted everything down so I will take pics before I clean it up (and after). Now I have to fix the rattles.
