Picked up my new 2017 Prime from Dianne at Carson Toyota over the weekend. Drove it 350 back home to Sonora, leaving LA at 4:30 am to beat the traffic - 5 1/2 hours with one stop, and 45 mpg - I'll take it!

I am still learning from the forum and the manuals, but I'll be darned if I can find out whether a Toyota app exists that tells me the state of charge, allows to turn the AC on remotely, locate the car, etc.

I remember my 2012 PiP had such an app.

I downloaded Entune 3.0, but it looks like just a way to operate third party music and search apps like Pandora and Yelp.

Where is the app that remotely reports on my Prime, and allows me to control a few of its functions?

    Thanks, Peter

You need entune 2.0, our cars don't have 3.0. Since you have an advanced, after you get the safety connect all activated, then you can use the extra Entune stuff.

You need to add the Safety Connect contract number at http://www.myentune.com. And you get the Safety Connect contract from Toyota. The easiest way to do this is to press the SOS button in the car (flipping open the little cover over the button first!), and when the operator answers and asks if you have an emergency, state that there is no emergency, and that this is registration call. They will already have the car info, and will ask you for personal info. Make sure they tell you the contract number. There is no charge for Safety Connect for three years.

OK... Bob, I went into the App Store on my iPhone - no Entune 2.0 was findable - just the 3.0 version (which I downloaded of course). And Charles H - I will call Safety Connect to get the car regeistered as per your instructions. After that, what is the app I use - is it called Safety Connect or something like that?

Well, just spent 26 minutes with a Toyota rep from Entune customer service.

She never could answer my question: "Is there an app that allows me to view my Prime Advanced's state of charge, its location, and perhaps even activate remotely the AC? We had to reset passwords once, then I was connected to a guy at Safety Connect for the Registration number.

I entered it, and now I'm signed up for emails to alert me about charge events (charge interrupted, completed, overdue etc).

The rep and Safety Connect put me on hold, called back to Toyota's Entune folks... and all he got was that "she said she was not aware of any phone app that shows the state of charge... etc."

It seems hard to believe that Toyota had such an app for my 2012 PiP, but now... nothing?

The Prime is the only Toyota vehicle that has it (unless Entune 3.0 includes that now) so it's a rare beast.

Well... somehow I got it all to work - thank you all! The app's name is Toyota Entune App Suite and I have the version Bob Comer listed above.

II'm glad you got it sorted out. I knew about being able to call the Safety Connect people to do the registration, but using the SOS button is usually the easiest way, since the system sends all the information about your car to the Safety Connect dispatcher, and they only have to get personal info, like e-mail address, from you.

BTW, the Safety Connect system is not operated by Toyota. It is actually operated by a subsidiary of SiriusXM, even though the service has absolutely nothing to do with satellite radio. Just owned by the same parent company.
