Since I ripped all my CDs and purchase my musics in .flac format, putting on a memory stick doesn't help. Any one know what DAP will work with the usb port of the 2015 Prius? I have a Sony NW-ZX100 and it doesn't work. (It can charge the player with the USB port but not recognized as a music player). Any info will help (from a list of DAPs that work with Prius to any method making the Sony DAP I have recognized by the Prius).

I'm all lossless audio format, and looked into that. In the same boat, my audio rips are flac and wav files, the only way for me to get them to play is to have it on a smart phone then connect to prius usb port. Some people subscribe to Tidal and stream music at 16-bit 44,100hz and master audio track with that app. Major audio difference. You can also do the megladon antenna mod to pull in far stations clearer.

i use this: Free Audio Converter | Best MP3 Audio Converter to convert my music to 320K MP3.

what i need is a shazam-type program that will listen to the actual song and fill in all the ID3 tags / file details automatically. i have almost 700GB (close to 85,000 songs) most were not bought. AKA CD rips (including Youtube rips [ dvdvideosoft has youtube downloads too] )and fandom produced music.

note: dvdvideosoft is free but to get good quality (for example HD video off youtube) you do need to buy it and to get a premium account. this will unlock higher quality including CUDA encoding.

The idea behind of a DAP is to keep audio quality lossless, nothing less than 16-bit 44,100 hz sample rate will be acceptable (y)

Listening in a car with suboptimal acoustics, you could probably get by with 320k MP3 and pass a blindfolded audio-test. Just don't do it while driving.

Too late, already did the blindfold test while driving to compare lower bit rates. Probably got flipped off many times but lucky enough not to see it.

My snobby ears wants to say: I deserve no less than 16-bit format.

Over the years, I archived my constant growing CD collection in case the CD Apocalypse comes. So I have no time and space to convert them to lesser quality. I run hi-fidelity audio components so not a chance haha.
