    Third time is the charm?

    Torque appears a little weak.

I like styling of this new Insight much better than the old ones. If I am going to buy another passenger car, I will consider it. It is basically all new Civic Hybrid hatchback. One thing limited Civic Hybrid utility was that it was sedan with a small trunk. The same could be said for Accord Hybrid and Clarity Plug-In Hybrid.

Ah, Honda will put out a handful to sell. They are much more interested in selling Civics. Other day checked inventory on Accord / hybrid ... 290 something Accords at Fremont Honda, 8 Accord Hybrids ... typical.

Confirmed. Thank for the video. After driving Civic sedan (ICE) and HCH (another sedan) for years, then switching to Gen3 Pri, there is no going back to a sedan with a tiny trunk.

If Honda advertises it like they do the Clarity Plug-in, they should move. I don't think I've seen a car pushed as much as that thing.

Yes - insight at least in the US is sort of a failure. They should have given it a new name.

This is a totally different car than either of the other 2, although it seems an improvement of the last civic hybrid which it seems to be replacing.

Torque at the shaft is not that important, its torque at the wheels. This can easily be solved by proper gearing, if it is designed correctly.

They did change the name. This used to be the Civic hybrid, which has a worse rep than the Insight.

Honda should have skipped on the Insight2, and just brought over the Fit hybrid. The ICE model was popular, and the cargo versatility could have made up for any shortcomings in comparison to the Insight.

I agree, being a sedan with no hatch, it is a HCH III.:ROFLMAO: BTW, what happened to the Fit EV? I signed up for the information but it never became available in my area, as far as I know.

fit ev was a compliance car sold only in california (maybe somewhere else), that is now dead. The replacement limited compliance cars are the clarity fuel cell and clarity bev. The clarity phev is sold nation wide giving the compliance california zevs a bigger manufacturing base.

The sedan-with-trunk is the maddening bit for me. Is there some unwritten law, that there HAS to be a fly in the ointment.

Except SUV and minivan we had in the past, all of my cars were with trunk either coupe or sedan, until I got Gen3 Prius. The utility of not having the wall behind the rear seats was immense. Even with tiny cargo behind rear seats of PRIME, I was able to place 300 lbs of chicken feeds into PRIME hatchback at ease.

isn't that setting the bar pretty low? Seems like it would be more loftier a goal if they were trying to surpass Prius, Camry, or whatever. But the insight? Ok, go honda.
