    Simple and worked for me on my 2018 Three: I disconnected connector from speaker. Shoved in leads for a 1 watt 4.7 ohm resistor, taped it up with electrical tape and secured it with more tape to the rest of the harness, and it WORKS! The leads for this resistor are big enough that the connector grips them with good tension for a good connection. Removed speaker and bracket from car. Tested it. doesn't get hot or anything either.

    I don't think so. I tried electrical tape to seal it and it did not work too well. You could try filling it up with caulk. I just used a 4.7 ohm resistor shoved into the connector and that works for me.
