Remote to start and lock/unlock/alarm buttons work, but ac button doesn't. Even in 100 degree weather, with climate set to ac and solar kicking the fan, the car doesn't start even with holding the ac button on the keyfob for 2-5 seconds.

    Any help?

I tried a few times this winter, to see if I could get it to start-up the defrost. I was never successful.

Prius by design can only be started up / on ready state, by pressing start stop button once the led on the button is solid green.

Is this car new to you or have you owned it since it was new from the factory? (there are different settings and maybe the previous owner changed its setting).

If not, then it might be a faulty circuit board. Have you tried with the other remote?

I got the car from an insurance auction. I will try with a second remote. But I believe it didn’t work as well.

Yes which doesn’t come on the Prius. Remote ac does.

Since it has a dubious past, here's a guess: the FOB may not be the original and may have been only partially paired.

Also, to verify, does the car have a solar roof/sunroof? I don't recall those being an option on level II's but I could easily be mistaken on such details.

Yes my Prius has a solar roof and sun roof. Package 4. Both key fobs that came with the car have the ac button on it.

Alright guys, you get his point. Let's try figuring out why the Remote A/C button doesn't work.

OP has trim II, for sure it doesn't have sun moon solar roof. Not mistaken.

Yeah but he mentioned "package 4" in one of the posts (so I assume model IV). He may want to fix his profile to reflect his actual model.

But you are right, a II did not have the SR option.
