Went through the paces, no go. my 2008 prius has HV battery issues and its beyond my time investment and ability to shell out the dough to fix it. tried, failed. Anyone know the best place in California, norcal preferably, who is buying/salvaging gen 2s?

Carmax if you can drive it there.

If it's not driveable than it will be hard to get any money outside of craigslist.

Too bad. If I drove more (I'm retired now), I'd buy it. In only 82,000 miles I saved $7,000 over the small SUV I originally intended to buy, so paying $2,700 to get it repaired would be a value.

How many miles on your Prius?

You’ve gotten a rebuilt battery pack before?

Does it burn oil, and if so how much?

    How are the cosmetics?

    What model?

    Any pics?

According to a previous thread, 331,000 miles and he's had a lot PITA issues with reliability. Poke a fork in it.

I have pics i can email you if interested. the cosmetics are better than average, 331,000 miles. but the only thing i've replaced on it was the ECM and a wheel bearing. Lube and oil all up to snuff along the line. I drove the piss out of this car, might burn 1 qt to 1.5 qt between oil changes, but most of that seemed to be blow by because of mountain driving rather than actual ''burn''.

Edit: its also a base package. nothing fancy, if there was anything fancy on Gen2

Yeah, I was trying to fix a simple O2 up/down and when I got it off the jack stands the thing was toast. Turns out Techstream says I have 2 bad cells, probably what's causing the ECM and Transmission code, considering there was no issue prior.
