    I'm looking into the ComEd Hourly Pricing program and am curious who already participates in it or an equivalent program with your electricity provider.

    Hourly Pricing

    | ComEd - An Exelon Company

    My primary concerns hinge around the amount of possible savings and whether it's worth the impending hassle.

    In my experience, making adjustments to currently stable accounts, such as cable and mobile, takes one click to enroll, two months to activate, and three months of Customer Service calls to get settled out. The mental cost of undergoing the progress far outweighs the eventual benefits. If there actually are benefits.

    So who does it, how hard was it, and how much are you saving per month.

    I duno - reading the primary guts of their websites;

    We just added 4 more panels, upping our PV from 7.1 to 8.0 kWh AC rated output .... so even with 2 EV's we're already seeing 0 monthly bills, & getting a small dollar amount check back from the utility - most years - & with the 4 new panels added on - it's likely we'll still zero out - even if the utility tacks on more "PV hookup" fees where they charge extra, just to be hooked to the grid with our solar. If the utility does too many more PV hookup fees, it might be more advantages to just add a Tesla power wall & capture our surplus kWh's - rather than giving it back to the grid for a paltry 2.9ยข/kWh.

    From their website - this plan seems to primarily work for folks that owe the utility more then $50/month. Plus, maybe this is in the fly over states only? I see the word illinoise ... but nothing farther regarding any out-lying areas. Anybody know if their plan goes to other states?

    I joined hourly pricing at the beginning of this month. There's no way I'm not saving cash... But until I get the latest bill I don't have it in writing

    I joined the hourly program 2 months ago, so far I'm saving 10% a month but using more juice!

    I gave some thought to signing up but the Prius Prime's electric consumption is really the only thing I would use during the off peak hours. The rate during normal/peak hours would go up and offset any savings. I'm staying where I am.

    Good choice!

    Compared to house power, our EV cars are a rounding error.
