So I bought a Japanese version of the beatsonic bypass because it was only $100 and the button to turn it on and off was more subtle.
    (Purchased on Japanese Rakuten website)

Installation was the same as theirs. I'm actually surprised at how easy it was to plug in. The hardest part was getting that plastic plug that you have to use a flat screwdriver to pop up to get out. The rest was very easy. Lots of pull-to-release clips.

And before anyone says anything, I'm not interested in hearing about the legality of having this as my car is way past the point of legal compliance with the tint, autopilot, and various other little things.

That looks like a pretty advanced install job. Does this have any possible uses other than playing video while driving?

You can enter text and do things you can't usually do while driving. Change settings and enter destinations will be locked when the car is moving. You'll be able to see your album art for your music when driving. Also its actually REALLY easy to install.

You only need a flat head screw driver and a 10mm thing to undo two bolts. Also maybe something soft like a blanket or I just used my backpack for leaning the console on.
    1. On the passenger side open the door and pry off the side panel with the flat screw driver. It just pulls off if you go around the edge.
    2. - Inside there, there's that black plastic clip. Use the flat head screwdriver to pry it up. (This was the hardest part for me)
    3. At the Infotainment center the little black panel on top of the infotainment system between the screen and the dash gets pried up carefully like the side panel with the flat screw driver
    4. -There's a single clip holding from being completely removed. You just pinch the two little nubs that stick out on both sides and twist it 90 degrees and it'll detach.
    5. -Use the 10mm thing to remove the two bolts
    6. -The whole infotainment system and the plastic shiny thing that goes all the way to the passenger side door is one solid piece. It takes only light effort to pull that from the dash starting from the passenger's side working it off to the middle.
    7. -The adapter you buy will only fit in the one port. Unplug the stock cable and plug the adapter in.
    8. -The stock cable plugs in to the adapter.
    9. -Run the button to where ever you want it. Putting it back together is just the same thing in reverse
    10. -The whole big piece just gets pressed back into place starting at the screen.
    11. -Put the two bolts back in
    12. -twist the clip back into the infotainment top piece and press it back in
    13. -Shove the black clip back in on the passenger side
    14. -Shove the side panel back in on the passenger side

    DONE!

Is there anything better/different about the more expensive version?

With the American version the button is chunkier and the cord is thicker so you cant put the button anywhere. They want you to route the cord down where the seat heater control is. I would assume shipping is faster. Cost: $150-210

With the Japanese version, the cable and button are both super flat. You can see it in the bottom left side of the car screen. Shipping took 5 days from ordering to get to Japan to PA. Cost: $106

Do you think there is any difference in quality?

I placed an order for one. Looks like the item was listed for $46 and now the price on their website changed to $87. So shipping is like $63?

I'm going to install my Beatsonic over this weekend. My kit came with a toggle switch. It guess it's fine for me.

Does the LDW, Radar cruise, blind spot and sonar work when the motion is disabled on the infotainment?

The video, beat sonic has a ground wire. The Japanese version doesn’t?

Since the only moving part of this is the button, i don't think there's a lot of concern. The button could probably be replaced for next to nothing if it did break over time. The button is dis-connectable through it's own tiny harness so it's not like you'd have to splice wires. I've never had a problem with quality in terms of Japanese products though. If this was from a Chinese website, I might have second thoughts about ordering it.
The shipping cost for mine was about $24(which seems reasonable with as fast as it got here from the opposite side of the world). The product cost was about $81 (8,970 yen).
There wasn't a separate ground wire in the Japanese version. They probably just wired it a bit different to connect to the stock ground wire in the harness.

if I see a movie playing in a car with one driver I call the cops and follow them until the police show up... I've done it before and I'd do it again. Anyone who does that risks not just their own life but my, my family and my friends life as well.

See? That's why you also get the illegal dark window tint so people on the highway don't get distracted from the road by watching what people in their cars are doing.

I wonder what system those other people were using to watch video while driving.

Sorry you wouldn't be able to follow me through my gated workplace or my gated neighborhood on my short drives. Also it's actually legal in 12 states to watch tv or movies while driving.

If someone went to that much trouble, they'd have earned giving that ticket.

How long does it take to get the order processed & shipped.
It looks like they may not sell me the parts. The order just sits there. May be due to the fact that they miss priced ($47) instead of the $87?
When I placed the order it was $47 but today I saw it listed at $87.

So many "video in motion" hacked cars causing deaths on the road, it's a tragedy.:ROFLMAO:

I hope you call the cops for people on their cell phones too, at least.

This raises an interesting question. Which is more dangerous, driving with a video playing or driving while straining to look in passing cars for solo drivers that might be playing videos. Both seem dangerous to me, not to mention danger involved in stalking other drivers.
