This morning, and at various times in the year I’ve had my P.Prime, I’ve had a problem where the ‘Prime experiences some sort of apparent “failure to communicate” with a ChargePoint charger. I’ve never seen this with our Clipper Creek home charger.

In short, plug it in, and it behaves very much as though it were waiting for a scheduled charge, even though it definitely is in “Charge Now” mode: It charges a tiny trickle and then turns off the charge.

The only way I’ve been able to fix it has been to just keep unplugging and replugging, powering up and back down, etc., several times until it works. Switching over to a different charger sometimes helps.

Have any of you seen this sort of thing?

There's one public charger at the mall near me that does the same thing. Seems just to be the charger's problem though since the one next to it works fine. Sometimes there's a phone number on the unit to report that the public charger is having problems.

Update: This particular time, the problem came down to it taking a minute or two to start charging. In hindsight, I have seen that once before.

When this happens to me, it sometimes seems to be tied to the charger and sometimes to the car.

Thinking back, as well as I can recall at least, the last time I saw it just take a long time to start charging, like today, that was tied to the car itself (switching chargers didn’t help).

However, I too have seen cases, as you described, where it just doesn’t work in several tries, but fires up immediately after I switch chargers.
