Maybe not the most common traffic problem, but it's one absolutely worthy of recognition by drivers with or without electronic assistance.

This situation is often presented at lower speeds- double parking.

Toyota is 25mph for vehicle detection and 18-19mph (30km/h) for pedestrian detection with TSS-P 1.0. It's basically designed to pass the IIHS' highest speed AEB test to get the "Superior" rating. I believe most manufacturers are simply using 25mph as the benchmark if they want the "Superior" rating and below that if they want to offer a lower cost version and just achieve the "Advanced" rating.

This situation is a fairly common cause of accidents even among reasonably attentive drivers not using autopilot. It will probably continue to be until V2V.

And that is the reason why they used a Tesla is so suspect. They could have used any car.

Tesla is the most shorted stock in the stock market right now. Unscrupulous investors will make billions if Tesla fails by betting against the company. They will go to any lengths to put Tesla in a negative light by paying "reviewers" to write negative articles, make negative videos, or perform unscientific tests. These negative stories are then repeated on fora, like this one, like a spreading cancer in an attempt to hasten the demise of Tesla.

But how do you deny the cash burn he is going through? No company can keep this up for long.

That's what the scoundrels who short Tesla stock have been saying for the last 8 years. That's what they also said about Amazon and Apple. I am confident Tesla will show a profit, for the first time, at the end of Q3/18.

I honestly hope they do. Not just for the negative publicity but also, Tesla is the one that's shoving everyone in the industry in that direction. If Tesla fails, the industry will just revert back to status quo and we don't want to go back.

Exactly, Tesla's success will motivate makers like Toyota, which has tremendous experience and resources, to jump wholeheartedly into the BEV marketplace. Competition will be good for all of us, the consumer. This will be a win/win for everyone!

And no, we cannot afford to go back. The future depends on it.
