Should I buy a used brake actuator?

    Is it safe to buy a used/salvage brake actuator for my 2007 with 107k miles? I'm so nervous and have no idea where to start? Any tips? Things to look out for? Where should I buy from?? Please help.

    Some questions:
    • Where in California are you located?
    • What are your main concerns?
    • Have you priced options yet?
    • Checked at the local salvage yards, eBay, etc?
    • Will you be buying and installing yourself, or then giving the unit to a mechanic to install?

    - I'm in Sacramento, California

    - My main concern is spending $$ on a used one and then it turning out to be a dud or only lasting a couple years, etc.

    - I haven't priced anything or looked anywhere yet. I'm brand new to this lol.

    - I'll be having a mechanic install it. :)

    I’d look just east of you in Rancho Cordova a long Recycle Road as there are 2 Toyota salvage yards there. Might even be a decent mechanic around there as well;).

    I’ve been to TLS there before and they have plenty of inventory :).
