I know the different models come with out a spare and thus a lower deck or other arrangements. Unfortunately for me the three comes with a spare and all this useless Styrofoam. I have removed the spare and the jack etc., but want to regain the space this stuff took. Can anybody also tell me about the Eco and Four models that do not have a spare? How is the space used? Can I just buy the stuff from a salvaged Eco or Four and put it in my Three?
    Thanks, John

What's your plan if you have a flat? You probably want to make a mold or something so you can turn that space into a storage compartment.

I'm sure there are people on here who would trade with you who want a spare tire set-up. You could post a wanted ad on this sites Private Sale. Another place to look would be Car-Part.com for a local yard that has one.

Check if there's one in your wrecking yard or look on Craigslist (if it still exists) for someone dismantling a crashed one.

A few have had the dealer switch out the foam to convert...I cannot recall if they went 3 to 4 or 4 to 3 but basically interchangeable...but I am not sure it is perfect fit, but very good.

I dont need a spare because I have a repair kit in case of a flat.
The Eco and the 4 touring do not have a spare either.

Have a look here for the best answer - (the manual gives a few different options depending on specification, which spare etc)

It’ll also give you values on the tire;).

So when you do take a look to see if it’s still there, you’ll be able to know what the values are:).

    Very patriotic avatar today(y).

The Gen4 version without spare has more cargo space. The foam insert on the floor is several inches lower, resulting in a non-level floor with the seats down.

I added styrofoam to my floor to get a level surface. I added several "nooks" to provide storage areas.

Yes indeed I think you were a pioneer of Gen4 rear space management

I have a 4 touring and need the pieces lol. It’s crazy how much they want for foam from the dealership. So my spare is in my garage :-(.

Doesn't anybody make a Gen4 Cargo area conversion kit? All it would take to recover that space is some plywood, doweling, hinges and a little ingenuity. Replace the spare with a repair kit? What do the Gen 4 Priuses that come spareless do with that space? Just fill it with styrofoam. I so miss the rear end of my Gen 3. Looked better too. This thing is fugly

"This stuff" might save your bacon some time. I think you'll find the majority of owners are headed the other direction on this "conversion road", ie: trying to swap that pump/slime kit for a temporary spare.
