Tail light and license plate light off

    Hello everyone
    I have a prius 2012 gen 3
    I was trying to change license plate bulb light when the negative and positive wire touching each other
    Then the tail light and the license light go off
    Whats the problem??

    Perhaps the TAIL fuse has blown because of the short circuit created when the wires touched. That’s a 10-ampere fuse in the Instrument Panel Junction Block. See pages 456–457, 462, and 464 in the Owner’s Manual (PDF).

    The following items are on the TAIL fuse:

    Headlight Leveling System, Parking Lights, Tail Lights,
    License Plate Lights, Front Fog Lights, Side Marker
    Lights

    If all of those don't work, it is certainly the fuse. This fuse is located in the box by the driver's knee. It is a 10-amp fuse, located in position #30 in the box, It's the fuse in the corner of the fuse box, closest to the firewall on the driver's side of the box. If you purchase a replacement fuse, note that the Prius uses "low profile" fuses.
