All I want is the Latte Machine Conversion in place of the rear seat storage armrest case thing. Don't care about a 5th seat or solar roof.

You know that the car is not getting any wider for that extra seat right?

Isn't it the same width as PRIUS Gen 4, which is plenty of width for 3 grandchildren, adequate for 2 adults plus one child.

This is true. There are no width differences between the Gen 4 models, including the Prime. Their justification for 4 person seating in the Prime was a combination of total vehicle weight and frame structure below the seats to make room for the 3.3kW charger.

I do believe we very well might see a 5 seater (4.5 seater) version sometime soon - or maybe Europe/Japan might see it sooner.

Is the 2019 Prius Prime coming very soon? Could it be five-seat?

Don't dismiss the fact that Toyota clearly said the intended audience for Prime was not the same as Prius. Also, don't overlook the rumored CUV model (larger Prius) potentially on the way.

The Honda Clarity, whose commercial shows 3 kids in the back, is taken as a direct assault against the Prime. Two seats is a perceived
weakness, but I wish they would leapfrog rather than play catch-up and offer a Prime convertible, if there isn't going to be a solar sunroof.

Since we saw the mule being tested, it's a safe assumption something is seriously being considered... which would us larger platforms, rather than just 2.

Why are you ignoring Camry hybrid ?

Offering that with a plug to counter both Ford and Honda makes far more sense.

Honda could simply be trying to get in front of that.

Some of my work is with Toyota. I am in KY a lot....RAV4 is outselling the Camry right now and I don't see a plug-in Camry on the horizon. Toyota moves very conservatively with new models. So my next EV will probably be a electric motorcycle unless I can get a deal on a P100D.

Camry hybrid with a plug is a strong possibility in other markets. We obviously have a fertile setting for RAV4 hybrid with a plug.

Remember, the Corolla PHV makes it debut next year... not here.

It's too big - it won't fit in my carport. Well, it will, but I can't open the doors!!!

If only - but that time will be on us before we know it. With my FIESTA, 2" narrower, I could just open the passenger door partly - but the extra 2" and the mirrors are wider too, only the driver's door, and I have to be careful it doesn't get caught in a wind draft and hit the wall.

I heard a PODCAST while back (BBC??) where they said that when cars remotely park themselves, they'll reduce the size of carparking spaces where parking is tight, I think they were saying 20-25% more spaces would be available.

Not sure of that either - height could be a problem?? Have they got them to work reliably yet?
    upload_2018-7-16_11-0-9.png

I forgot to say - the Camry is 80mm wider than PRIUS - over 3" I think that is, but the doors seem to open wider too .
