This is the 3rd time I've seen such a report on Prius Chat in past 10 days... If I get my friends hybrid battery back together properly in next few hours I'll test drive it to parts dept. at local Toyota and if it's nottoo long of a wait, I'll try to confirm. How many else on here can turn this Opinion into fact?

I bought a new Toyota pack from Texashybridbatteries last year for approx. $2500 OTD. That included installation, battery fan check/cleaning, and because I was a PC member Matt threw in an additional throttle body check/cleaning. I did have to drive a looooong way to get that deal.

So figure in dealer labor rates and taxes on the $1920 and it "should" be around the same.

    YMMV

Confirmed!!! Just went and got the price quote as well as exploded view of "part" they expect back from you if you want to get your $1350 core charge. Wonder if they're very flexible about not having a chassis and cover? Seems like most people who can put together a core to give 'em are gonna have a hard time finding a chassis and cover, more than the other stuff? Of course that won't be an issue for a regular consumer.

It says on the bottom of the diagram: "This part is not supplied as an individual part, because it is difficult to keep the function / quality of parts assembled / disassembled." LOL!!!

All those Craig's list Hybrid Pack rebuild people just lost a huge chunk of their market share with this price drop!

I got the same price quote from a dealer in the Portland, Oregon area. Do they honor the 3 year warranty if you buy from the parts counter and install yourself? Or is it only a 1 year warranty?

Someone on here said three years if you pay them 5.5 hours of labor even though it doesn't take that long, and one year if you DIY. I forgot to confirm that at my local dealer today.
