    Hi guys,

I ve been given some numbers off the computer when diagnosing my 2009 prius (460 000km). It was C1252 -brake booster motor on time, C1253- Pump motor relay. I was quote about 1700 to fix this, and I'm not too sure it that's correct. Does anyone out there have experience with this problem, I hate talking about these things to mechanics because the lingo goes over my head and I'm getting prices from 1300-1700, any help would be greatly appreciated! (On top of these costs I also need a hybrid battery which ive been quoted 2000 for a Japanese make one). Do you guys think its worth investing in a prius of this age and km's? Thanks people!

The relay can't cost that much, and poor contact in a relay could contribute to excessive pump motor on time. I would at least try to get somebody to look up and follow the Repair Manual fault tracing steps for those codes. I wrote a post once explaining how the car's computer monitors that pump so as to be able to identify different kinds of wiring or relay problems as well as problems with the pump itself. That post was about a Gen 1, but the principles should apply to your car too.

By the way, are you driving a 2009 (Gen 2)? You've posted in the Prime forum.

I ll check out your post :) You've got me hopefull !
