Well, repairs now also include replacement of a leaking engine water pump, and drive wheel/belt attached. A $380+ extra jobbie.

So in total for 150K probably:
tighten sway bar links, replace exhaust flange gasket, don't proactively replace drive-belts until the engine water pump has issues, throttle body if not done yet, check/replace axle seals.

@ 181K+ miles now. The dealership wants to replace the catalytic-converter because the engine-code is saying it's not operating within "normal" efficiency. So that's a $1k+ jobbie along with an O2 sensor replacement. Wth.

    at 180K (2015-03-23):
Replaced the front-marker lights (yellow/orange) with LEDs. Replaced the rear-tail lights, license-plate bulbs with LEDs.

Three-way valve is sticking. $583 jobbie at AutoNation Toyota of Irvine. I know it should be cheaper, and I've asked them to get it done in multiple instances.

i've read that it's not necessary unless you fail a smog test, which is not required on prius in california. also, you can grab a cheap after market of salvage yard dog.

Sadly, there are no CARB certified aftermarket converters for a Prius, so while you could fix it for $400 in parts in MS, it is close to a grand and a half in CA.

OP -- Your Prius story and mine are a lot alike. I recently came to this discussion with an 04 Prius, 152K miles, and warning lights, and a a general question of what do I need to do to catch up on maintenance, beyond the oil change/oil filter and reactive mode I have been in, if I am going to keep the car for another 60K or five years? The post I copied below should help your situation. It gives the basic path forward I am on, once my dead hybid battery gets replaced (that's a story for another post/another time)
[BTW -- anyone have good pointers re board etiquiettes and techniques? e.g., I am still grappling with board functions like how to quote and create cross references links]

"Here's the punch list incorporating everyones's thoughtful comments. I plan on going to the shop and asking for an estimate of the items, and seeing if it's worth it to do the maintenance, or sell and buy a new / later model Prius.
It's quite a list. That said, thanks for your help, everybody. You've been really terrific! Any guesses what the final tally will be from the shop mechanic?
    • Rotate tires adjust tire pressures as required
    • Replace ATF -- use Toyota ATF only
    • Change engine inverter and coolant fluid
    • Clean and adjust rear brakes
    • Replace brake fluid
    • Replace cabin air filter
    • Replace engine air filter
    • Replace ac filter
    • Clean Throttle Body, if needed
    • Check 12 v BatteryReplace PCV
    • Replace engine and inverter water pump and serpentine belt
    • Clean HV battery fan
    • Replace thermostat and gasket
    • Lubricate chassis
    Inspect the following:
    • top off as needed -- antifreeze (adjusted to x degrees?), differential oil and clutch fluid(?), brake fluid, power steering fluid, windshield washer fluid , rear windshield washer fluid
    • ball joints & dust covers
    • drive shaft boots
    • exhaust pipe and mountings
    • radiator, and condenser
    • brake lines and hoses
    • brake pads calipers and rotors
    • engine valve clearance
    • drive belts -- look for cracks on ribbed side of the belt
    • steering linkage and boots
    • rack and pinion steering assembly
    • fuel lines and connections, fuel tank band and fuel vapor vent system hoses
    • all lights and signals

You may want to use 5w-30 (0w-30) instead depending on outside temperature your driving habits engine condition and other factors.
You only should use Toyota SLLC as both inverter and engine coolant.
If you have some short of information display you can tell if you need to change thermostat or not.
There isn’t anything to lubricate on chassis.
No need to check antifreeze if you already replaced it at “Change engine inverter and coolant fluid”. Windshield and rear washer fluid is the same.
Engine valve clearance check is just to listen to the sound of the engine.
No need to check drive belt if you already replaced it at “Replace engine and inverter water pump and serpentine belt”

List may seem long and hard but everything except replacing engine coolant, cleaning hv-battery fan, changing thermostat and changing coolant pumps is super easy and fast. And even those are pretty fast and easy.

Regarding the f u e l gasket...my 2007 gas cap is loosening by itself and throwing a check engine code. The code resets after a few few cycles but is it more cost effective to replace the fuel cap [IMG] gasket only or just the whole cap/gasket assy? Whats the part # for the gasket?

    Popping an old thread...

Just found out the 150k service on my Prius next weeks is about $750  Need to see what the dealership is quoting that's not actually on Toyota's schedule.

It's a big one, that's for sure.... Inverter Drain/Flush/Refill, Coolant Drain/Flush/Refill, Spark Plugs, Oil Change, Tire rotation, a ton of "Inspections". I'll do the 2 air filters myself at least.

Inverter and Engine drain and fill: yes, that's per the schedule. It's the second time for engine (first at 100K, then every 50K thereafter), and first time for inverter (first at 150K, then every 50K thereafter). For the first inverter coolant mileage, read the footnotes carefully, it's tricky.

The plugs, I'm not sure, first interval was at 120K miles, and there's not footnotes saying otherwise, so maybe they're good to 240K?

I had a spreadsheet that went the extent of the US schedule, and I've attempted to extrapolate it, to 240K, in the attachment:

Off schedule but have you done the egr circuit cleanse:whistle:?

If not, I’d add that to the list (y).

I've had the dealer do every single service so presumably I've done what was required the whole way BUT I just realized this is the Gen2 forum and I have a Gen3 2010. So my apologies, I was just following a link from google for "150k Service."

I will look into the EGR cleanse as well, that is probably something I can do myself though. Thanks!

Thanks for the link! Vermont is a CARB state and I think our spark plugs are 150k for first change (even though it's the exact same plug as non carb states that call for it at 120k)

    Ah, see what you mean:

Yeah, that's strange. I glean that California has stricter emissions standards, so why extend the spark plug change interval; wouldn't aging plugs pollute more? Or perhaps the concern is more spark plugs in land fills??

Maybe CA-formulated fuel will foul the plugs less; or maybe the PZEV standard requires the longer change interval?

CARB mandates spark plugs are warranty items for 150,000 miles to get the clean air credits. Toyota does all it can to hint that you really should change them earlier, but if they mandated them changed at 120,000 it would be a warranty repair, not a customer charge.
