Then again, now that weed is legal up here the situation in the first bullet might become more frequent ;)

When I received my car there was a big yellow tag on the wiper control with that warning too.

This just happened to me the other day with my Prime. I pressed Open Fuel Door and the door opened and then closed on me. I had to press the Open Fuel Door the 2nd time but I'm guessing that 2nd time didn't open the fuel vapor recovery valve. Without knowing about this issue, I tried refueling on a near empty tank and the pump just kept clicking. Then the gas poured out over onto the side of the car :(. I had to press the Open Fuel Door the 3rd time for my Prime to take gas.

Tip - I heard that you shouldn't wipe the gas off the paint as gas will weaken the paint and wiping it will scuff the clear coat. Just let it dry and wash away the residue after.

If the valve did not open, it sounds like a bug that needs to be fixed. Did the display say the car was ready to refuel?

Toyota has come up with a design to reduce emissions, and as a consequence owners are sometimes spilling copious amounts of gas down the side of the car? The EPA or whoever should be interested.

Had the 17 3 in for the free 10k check today so had them replace the spring from the TSB while it was there. I’ve never experienced a problem but why not get it done while it was there. Called last week to get the spring ordered...it was a major pita convincing the assigned service advisor to order it.

I can’t tell any difference in the way the fuel filler door opens. If anything it doesn’t seem to open as far with just the spring.

Negative!! Immediately pour a bottle of water on it to wash off that gas. Been there, done that! :ROFLMAO: Do not allow it to dry on the paint! And then re-wax your fender.

The only fuel filling problem I have is the damn cost of the stuff here in the UK, £1.44 GBP for a litre of premium, that equates to $6.73 USD per US gallon.

Our (regular) gas is currently $1.44 as well, but CDN dollars, lol. Converts to 0.95 Euros right now. Still, why buy premium; Toyota recommends regular.

Less ethanol in premium over here, although I do use regular more often than not.

If I recall correctly, I bought some ethanol-free gasoline last weekend for our garden equipment at $3.25 per US gallon, which is close to 4 L.

The normal 10% ethanol here is $2.50 per US gallon at the Mobil station I normally use.

Premium here also has less (or no) ethanol. I tried it once or twice, did not see much difference. Did fillup up the coast in a small town once, with Chevron regular, and got superlative mpg on that tank; I suspect it was ethanol-free. Maybe ethanol-free regular is the holy grail?

See yesterday regular's up to $1.51 per liter.

We use ethanol-free mainly for our old garden tractor. Although it is a 1970, the engine design dates back to the 1940's
    (not my tractor)
