For me I didn’t tint it, people normally don’t tint it because when you do tint it; it becomes super darker than whatever you got on top. So it comes to the same thing one part beinbrg darker / lighter than other

That's a pretty good price. Most Huper-Optik ceramic installs won't come in cheaper than $500-600 not including windshield. They must have charged you for materials only.

i just had tint installed on my windshield. Question, what is the area to the left and right of the camera that is all dotted on the windshield. Is that important to avoid when installing the tint?

Probably decorative from what I can see. In either case, my installer avoided tinting over the dotted area which makes sense as the tint probably wouldn't bond properly in that area.

Maybe? I wasn’t specifically looking for that brand. I just wanted my car tinted and am happy with the results. Anyways, I got a lifetime warranty card from Huper for the install. I guess the tint shop is the only one that really knows.

That's much too small an area compared to the overall square footage of the windshield to dissipate heat. Not sure I've ever heard about heat dissipation with single pane glass before either.

Now, with double-paned windows such as those at the home and office, that's another story. At home, I have double-paned glass windows that are 50% thicker than American standard glass - it was mentioned that the window company was based in Canada - it can be 90 degrees outside, but 75-77 inside all day with no A/C running - and so DAMN quiet - the thicker glass plus double-pane blocks out most sound from the outside. But I digress...

Btw I’m truly jealous of the prices you guys pay for tint..... my windshield ALONE was more than what most of you guys pay for the whole car here in the Bay Area :(

My front Windsheild was $250 Crystalline
Entire car was $700. Pays to get a clean install with no errors and the corners and edge are so flush

What shop did you use up here?

I’m looking into getting the wife’s RX450h tinted and looking for good shops ;).

Was looking to do ceramic but not leaning toward Photosync instead:).

I’ll pay a bit more, but should work well(y).

The windows tinting in Santa Ana. Their so legit! Like their work is the best tint I’ve ever had, it’s abit more but that quality install was sooo worth it

I went to concord stereo in concord, but only because I was too lazy to drive to who’s done my last 3 cars: quality auto glass in Santa Clara ( EXCELLENT WORK, and a tad cheaper!)

wow , lots of great info, but, you guys, come on, need more pictures!! pdog benagi phv dame... can you guys put up a few pics ??
i just grabbed two leftover 2018 primes...since wife wrecked her 2008 prius and my car was 20 yrs old. deals in NJ on 2018 leftovers were too good to pass up.
Anyway, one is titanium pearl, the other is blue magnetism. i will be tinting both. with windshield. heat rejection is as important as looks.
i am strongly leaning towards huper optik, as i like the slightly reflective mirror look, especially for the blue car...
in my research so far...a few notes
crystalline slightly brownish hue ??not sure i would like it
huper optik : silverish appearance i would like, tends to ghost, will that be a problem on the rear glass with the major curves?
llumar formula 1 pinnacle : nice charcoal gray appearance, a bit matte look, not sure i like the black look vs silvery...
xpel prime plus : havent seen but supposed to be good, any coloration, brown blue?
photosync supposed to be the best, but super expensive, probably not worth it. how does it look? silver, black, brown, blue ?
if you guys can do some pictures, it would help great help since your primes are already done up!!!
any opinions welcome also, like would matte black look better on the blue car, or the silver looking huper .

this is what i mean by huper looking silverish. i think its more reflective, and picks up some of the color of the cars paint...
    i like that.
