The big MFD, like yours, was present thru 2009. The Gen 3 Prius (2010-2015) has a smaller multi-function display next to the combo meter.
    2014-toyota-cluster-and-multi-function-display.jpg
Smart Key (SKS) on the driver's door is standard on all the Gen 3s, adding it to passenger and hatch was part of some option packages.
In 2004 it was called Smart Entry/Smart Start (but is usually just referred to as "SKS") and was available on all Gen 2s (2004-2009) in some of the option packages. It is impractical to add SKS if it is not there, as most of the car's wiring harnesses would need to be changed. (One of the reasons why I started looking for a newer Prius :).)

@Tideland Prius :notworthy: did a great job creating a couple of knowledge base threads on the option packages, REALLY helpful!

    Great!(y)
:eek:No, not normal! You need to determine if you have a leak (check the oil drain plug and filter 1st, then the usual spots on the engine) or are you burning it (black tailpipe?) Please start a new thread in the Gen 2 maintenance Gen 2 Prius Care, Maintenance and Troubleshooting | PriusChat section for help! (I'm an electric guy)

Well, maybe not so fast, here is the oil consumption from pg. 207 of the 2004 Owner's manual:
so you COULD be down 3L in 3,000 km and still be "normal". Please keep a close eye on your oil! running low on oil is VERY bad for the Prius!
To compare, my old, abused 2004 (it was a city-owned car in Miami, and seems to have had a hard life) had 192,000 miles on it and burned almost no oil.

There's no way to know for sure when a battery will fail, getting a mini-VCI OBDII cable and Techstream and recording the cells' performance under load, will give a good indication of how healthy it is. An easier solution that looks promising, is an app called Dr. Prius, it has you force-charge the battery and then put a load on it to estimate how much life is left in the battery, but it is mostly guesswork. You should start a new thread, and call it "What's the best way to test my traction battery?" and get the people who work on them regularly to give you suggestions. I haven't had the pleasure of working on my battery (yet).

All batteries from 2004-2009 are interchangeable, is it new from Toyota? how much? (new from Toyota is around $2100US just for the part)
"New" batteries from other sources are reportedly not very reliable. Find out who the battery came from, and post a question about it in a new thread.
And, no, I have not replaced a battery.

Yes, 4-wheel ABS is standard on Prius--of course it uses regenerative braking (recharge the battery) first and then the "regular" brakes kick in if needed and then under (I think) 6 MPH.

ABS does not use regenerative braking, if the ABS is activated it switches to hydraulic braking immediately.

With normal braking (that is, no ABS, no VSC), the cutover speed for regen to hydraulic is 7 mph (11 km/h).

Thanks for the clarification, @dolj I was sloppy with the pronoun. The "it" was the Prius.

it transforms the energy created by the hybrid drive train into an acceptable form for the battery, and vice versa

i bought the prius 2010 and it had a inventer problem the dealer told me the warranty was extended by toyota to 15 years but he never told me if the warranty goes for a 400k prius i only hope they dont mind the 400k km on the odometer and that the warranty of 15years still applies
