I am Kris' husband. Some of you may know her as Cyberprius.

We had a question, but she is very ill and asked me to check in to see if her Prius is still a viable beast, but refused to let me use her sign-in.

At any rate, how many screens did each of YOU have to go through picking the various road signs and mountains!

Honestly, I forgot the question she insisted I ask....I don't want to wake her, so that will have to wait until Thursday. It had to do with a battery code, but she did not think it was valid, but she is feverish...so...and she does not trust my work with TechStream.

What you describe is a common third party screening ap to stop bots. I've come across it, but spam bots weren't the problem they are today when I signed up here.

I joined abut a year ago and do not recall any issues but we had some pretty bad SPAM attacks since then.
WE definitely with Kris, you and your new family well. Things will definitely change, for the better ;)
Praying for Kris in her recovery.

I hope Kris feels better soon and that you don't get the bug.

I don't think it was that tough when I signed up, but as @Prodigyplace said, there have been a BUNCH of spammers here. I know what you mean, though. I hate those captcha things where you have to go through a bunch of iterations of the same thing.

Most of the TechStreams out there are 'pirated' and a few have been virus infected. Probably a good idea to sic an anti-virus on them. I found this a wise thing to do especially with new media.

A second potential problem is Toyota put in a 'phone home' hook. It tries to confirm the excessively expensive, Toyota license key and if not found, it bricks itself. I found that out by trying to remote access from a warm house from an internet connected computer.

Can you share some screen shots showing what you found?

Welcome, husband of Kris. Give your wife our best wishes, and take good care of her while she's sick. :)

Take good care of her when she's better, too. ;)

    Mr. Kris,

    Greetings and welcome aboard!

Hate to tell you but you're still not done with the hellish sign-up.
You still have an avatar pic to pick out for your account....although I dig the location.

    Speedy recovery to your CFO!

To all that saw this post and hoped I might have biked off to the great Pearly Gates, I managed to survive, although throughout most of it, I wished I had not.

Still feeling somewhat horrible. Some strange virus that a co-worker brought back from Central America. Hallmark feature is red spots up and down the lower legs. Other features are high fever, hallucinations, and wishing you were dead. It was a bit like seasickness, without the vomit. Co-worker went to the doctors several times. Was treated several times. Did not seem to do any better than I did.

Car issue was a misunderstanding on the part of my husband and my "visions." That's O.K. He did no damage and replaced the burnt out passenger side marker light on the Prius as a bonus.

He also did manage to fix (R/R blower motor resistor) in our Camry while I was OUT. He will be a apprentice mechanic yet.
Thanks for the good wishes. I think another four or five years and I may feel fine.

glad you're a bit better. i had a virus 10 years ago that knocked me out for the count. over a year of recovery, i thought it was lyme disease, but tested negative.

never did fully recover, as you can tell from my posts.

Sounds really weird Kris. Can't even guess what got you. Co-worker who doctored must have had at least one blood draw. Did that lead to a list of possible causes?

    Welcome back.

Once the kid starts in school that is just the start of a whole new situation. Definitely different , perhaps better.

I am hanging out here for a couple of more minutes, reading all the posts about how to check a 12v before I sign out....but....doctors never gave Lori (opps, I outed her) any sort of idea of what she had -- other than some sort of infection. They did prescribe antibiotics, but that did not seem to work, compared to my recovery cycle.

Well, of course, not going to work on a virus, which I assume it is....Maybe a Shaman mixture from Central America would have been the key.
