Entune cancelling Pandora...request to complain please.

Hi Prius owners. Toyota sent out an email stating they are cancelling Pandora from ALL their Entune apps on Nov. 13, 2018. I called Toyota and they confirmed that and they stated it was at Pandora's initiative. I'm asking if everyone can please complain to Pandora (and even Toyota) with a request to reverse this decision. We all know that Entune isn't the greatest app out there for cars and Pandora seems to be one of the best features on it for us. Perhaps if Pandora hears from enough people, they will reverse their decision and keep the feature on Toyota's software platform. Fat chance I know but it's worth a shot. Pandora doesn't do phone calls...only through their webpage do they allow for contacting them. Just search Pandora Contact Support in google and you will find the page to fill out.

    Toyota headquarters # is 800-331-4331

    Thanks for reading.

Pandora pissed me off by continuing to charge my credit card after i canceled there premium service. even filing fraud on my card didn't stop them they charged it under another account of theirs. i had to claim my credit card was lost and get a new card with new number to have them stop. i still use there free service now and just tune out the ads.

im on toyotas side here. glad there gone. get rid of pandora and i heart radio and put on spottily.

Toyota doesn't charge for the Entune media apps. They charge for the Advanced apps, but this makes sense, since they have to pay for service for the built-in cell phone and the third-party emergency response provider.

Way to go, Toyota, making a marginally useful feature worse. I've supported Entune on this site because it generally works well for me and I've made good use of Pandora. Guess not so much anymore. Here's the email I got, BTW:

They are trying to play this off as pandora not allowing third party applications anymore.

This is FALSE. The issue is that they want to charge Toyota a nominal fee to use their services, which Toyota will not do. There are plenty of other third party radios that still have working pandora.

When I first had entune way back when Pandora was advertised by Toyota as free for 3? Years and then would require a subscription to Toyota to continue as a no commercial product. It was only a year or two later when Toyota announced Pandora would remain commercial free with no subscription fees. How things seem to have changed.

I too received this email today. Toyota calls the cancellation of three services as an “update”. At first I assumed that this would mean that they were planning on replacing these services with something new (better). Alas, this is Entune, where even Toyota must realize that less is more. With a few more updates maybe they will eliminate all Entune services. Then it will be perfect.

Thanks Toyota for making the 'advanced' nav stereo $4k option a glorified blue tooth speaker .

I added BT functionality to my 07 for $40 ..

Note to Toyota EVERYONE with a smart phone uses it for as much as possible .. BTW your non adoption of Android Auto will cost you SALES as Nissan Mitsubishi & Renault team up with Google to offer a better auto data hub.

It really sux to be a Prime Advanced owner with that big screen now.

Different people have different priorities. For me, it was all about the hybrid-electric and related technology. The embedded media system meant (and still means) just about zero to me. For me, that someone would buy or not buy a car based on its media technology is hard for me to comprehend. But again, to each their own.

I don't think you will see that. I guarantee you part of the paperwork you signed when you bought the car and when you installed and configured entune stated something like, "We reserve the right to modify or terminate any part of this service whenever and for whatever reason we want".

This is most likely due to SiriusXM buying Pandora which was announced today.

I don't think so. Sirius already owned 20% of pandora, and this is still in the preliminary stages, and every other radio is keeping pandora, only Toyota is dropping it.
