I believe my price ($1.54 CDN per liter) converts to $4.51 US per US gallon. That current CDN price is pretty much at peak, it's been down as low as $1.46 in recent weeks.

A story this morning says ours may hit $4 in California. (It actually already is, in certain cites.) But that's still dirt-cheap when compared to Europe. ;) I won't complain about gas prices. I'm just grateful to own a Prius, and still be able to get out everyday and drive. Counting my blessings....

And I waxed my car again today. :ROFLMAO: Tried a new wax. It's a monthly habit. Yes, I was bored.

Spring and fall is enough waxing for me. Especially considering our low amount of driving, more would be overkill.

Griot's? Somebody posted a video a few days ago about this Poly synthetic wax. Supposedly you only have to do it once or twice a year. (But that's probably true with any good quality wax.)

I don't mind waxing a little more often. My car does sit out in the sun every day of the year. And I admit I'm a little bored in retirement. But seriously, I need to find a new hobby! And leave my poor car alone. ;)

I've tried different gasolines, different octanes, different types of oil, several brands of different waxes… Several different PSI settings in the tires… This is nuts! :ROFLMAO: Too much Priuschat, and not enough time outdoors, taking a nice long healthy walk every day. That's my new goal. My heart will thank me. :)

Shouldn’t your date be 9/28 as October hasn’t arrived yet:whistle:?

    I wish I drove that little in 20 days(y).

They mean the nation average will hit $4. The nation's average price is the canary in gold mine. Gas'd up at the at cheapest chevron $3.65 today.

This indicates to me that you read neither your Owner's Manual, nor post #5 above.

The real answer is, DTE will not reset when you add just 1 gallon. It refuses to reset unless you add significantly more than that, about 10 liters (about 2.5 gallons). If you repeatedly add one gallon at a time, with some driving distance in between each added gallon, you can completely fill the tank and still have DTE = 0 miles showing.

In the past, I've pointed out some peculiar properties of the Prius DTE estimate, which is very different than my Forester DTE estimate. For example, Forester's DTE can rise considerably when mpg conditions improve or when gliding downhill for long distances. Prius's DTE climbs only when more than 2.5 gallons of fuel is added, but can never ever climb while driving under improved MPG conditions, even in the extreme case of gliding gas-free on long downhills. In fact, Prius DTE must still count down at least 1 mile for every 2 miles rolled, despite having burned no fuel at all on those long downhills.

Long ago, for engineering curiosity and the group's benefit, Bob Wilson tested just how much reserve fuel is left in this tank. For the details, read just the first post of this much-too-long thread:

It sounds to me that the most likely scenario is:

    (1) the Chevron pump clicked off prematurely, after adding just 2 gallons. My car does that sometimes, so I have to pull the pump handle lever again to restart the gas flow. I always know about how much gas the car should take, so click again when it is too short.

    (2) Because it took only 2 gallons, DTE did not reset. That is just how your Prius DTE works. It is even noted in the Owner's Manual.

    (3) 438 vs 525 miles on DTE, you may be over-interpreting what this estimate means. If your recent MPG was lower than normal for any reason (weather, driving conditions, different driving usage conditions), DTE will reset to a lower figure at the next fill. Plus, if the fuel nozzle prematurely trips off before full again, the new DTE will come in low.

Both displayed and hand calculated MPG are far more meaningful than DTE. If you MPG stays fine, then no worries.

Agree with above. If anyone is in doubt, just simply hand calculate the gas mileage. Just like the old days. ;)
Which reminds me, I need to fill up today. My turbo Prius is really sucking gas.

The Chevron station on the corner has a McDonald's. Gas & breakfast at the same time.

Oh man, a complete brain-fart, fixed it. Yeah it's 20 days, not 6 weeks.

    No worries;).

Attention to detail is something of focus for me at work, so it bleeds over:oops:.

In the same 20 day period for our Prius, I’ve piled on 2200 miles:eek:.

    Tomorrow should hit 188 k miles(y).
