Move down here to Virginia where there is much less of that stuff ;)
I am originally from Toronto Canada but fo not recall ever having a vehicle there with a rear wiper. We just periodically pulled over and cleaned the window, if needed..

Ick...I generally start looking forward to winter around the middle of June, which is before the first day of summer.

A little duct tape, some sticks, and a broom attached to the roof of the car and I think you can make a manual one. Just roll down the window and pull the string.

I think you are forgetting that @Lee Jay doesn't have a sense of humor. Only a sense of "I'm always right. Period."

You're right. I find nothing funny about the incredibly dangerous situation of not being able to see anything behind me, especially when it is the most dangerous driving conditions.

If I pull over on the Damn Ryan* to clean snow off my rear window, I'd get run over. Literally.

Praying for anyone in FL in the path of that horrific cat 4 today!!! This is exactly why I don't think I'll ever own a Leaf or other pure EV. Where I live we simply don't have ANY rapid chargers...so with a hurricane a Leaf would be stuck here!!!

This is why my wife and I are excited about the Prime... we can do local all EV, but if we need to go long distances it still excels!!!

    Flooded roadways slow you down?

Ya, I agree that a Leaf or other short range BEV wouldn't be possible if you wanted to get it inland. In a Tesla you'd be absolutely fine.

Question....Do most people take all vehicles with them when they flee a hurricane? Example, if a family has 2 cars, do they make sure to take both, or just one?

No you wouldn't unless you left before the rush.

I was in the eclipse traffic in Wyoming. All the supercharger stations were occupied at the one I passed by (Cheyenne, WY, if I recall correctly) and traffic was moving an average of about 8 miles per hour. It took us 8 hours to go a distance that would normally take 1.5 hours. Of course, I was in the Prime so no problem other than getting home at 2:30am with my whole family asleep in the car for several hours.

Well, other people (ie. Tesla owners) that have fled an actual hurricane and not an eclipse viewing have had very different experiences than you.

If you get out in time, sure. You're taking the major routes and there are chargers there. If you are leaving at the last second with the mass exodus, you might get in trouble because of traffic and way too many people and cars for the available resources. This is a problem with gas cars too - you can have long lines at gas stations and you can have power outages that make both gas pumps and charging stations useless.

Yup, this story just published a little bit ago. No fuel is safe in a bad storm, electric, gas, or otherwise.
