    Hello!

I purchased a 2008 Gen 2 Prius in early June as my first car. I learned to drive on my parents Gen 3 and have had a soft spot for Prii ever since!

My Gen 2 had been a trade into a local dealership, and I purchased it as traded! After a DEEP clean and a few minor fixes here and there, as well as a brake line exploding, Kermit, my Prius, had become a reliable daily driver! There was only one thing that I HATED about Kermit, and that was the condition that the previous owner left the armrests in. The fabric was stain coated and falling apart and drive me insane every time I had to look at it.

I had made plans to reupholster at some point but never really got around to it because I couldn't find fabric that I liked until one day I was found a blanket that would make the perfect, and coolest armrests.

It only took a few hours for me to disassemble the interior of my car, reupholster every armrest and put it all back together. I quickly fell in love with the new plaid interior and even used the extra blanket to make a back seat cover for the bench!

Attached are some photos of the finished product if you have any questions on how it was done feel free to shoot them my way, or if you have any suggestions as to how I can give my Prius more "Street Cred" I would love to hear it! All in all, I couldn't be happier commuting to university every day in my old Gen 2, it makes me happy, is fun to drive and cheap on gas, what's not to love!

welcome! I'm not a fan of plaid upholstery, but as long as it makes you happy, its good. you did do a clean job of it. but now you need to figure out if the trans fluid, spark plugs, filters and such have been serviced. oh and check the HV battery fan to make sure its not globbed up with dog hair or something.

We got it all checked by Toyota mechanics out shortly after purchasing it! So its all good to go, only real problems are small rust spot, and the tires only have one or two more seasons on them!

i guarantee the Toyota mechanic didn't dis-assemble the cargo area to access the HV battery fan, unless you paid him to do it. the only way to check it is to remove the RH side panel in the cargo area. I found a mouse nest next to my HV battery shortly after I purchased mine, so definitely worth it to check it out.

I haven't! they are just made from a cheap blanket that I bought at Walmart and are assembled to parts that are already part of the car so if I were to try to make money off of it would have to be on installing them!
