As I am in "wait and see" mode concerning my car purchase, the anticipation is fun. Things I think about...

    1. When will the new '19s be announced by Toyota?
    2. Will they have Apple Carplay???
    3. How much more expensive will they be than current prime (advanced)?
    4. Will they tweak the design at all?
    5. Once they are available, will I be able to get a monster deal on an '18.. especially if carplay is not a reality?

In the meantime.. I will continue to troll PriusChat.. and enjoy the feeling...

They ought to be saying something pretty soon, it is October. The rumor has been that the regular gen 4 is getting somewhat of a face lift but hopefully a little more substantial than the alleged leaked photos. In terms of Prime vs Regular Gen 4, the prime is much more appealing to look at imo and I think a solid majority would agree.

Overall though I'm perfectly happy with my '18 Prime Plus. :)

You all realize the '20s will have new features you "just must have"?
There is value to actually having a car in your possession and using it vs. just waiting (possibly a LONG time).
I'm enjoying the heck out of my '18 while you guys sit and wait.
With a '19 you won't be able to realize the enjoyment of Entune/Pandora. :)
    Just my 2 cents.

I hope so axle. I’ve got two ‘18s that I’m looking at, if no Apple CarPlay or other improvements I’ll try to get a great deal on one of them. If CarPlay is there, I’m saving my pennies!!!

Well you would think that they would put an update through to at least the '18 models or those who are taking delivery now for the added features to the infotainment. Whether it is something like Apple Car Play or whatever. Me personally, I'm happy if it will be a reliable vehicle. If the thing will run a few years past the maturity date of the auto loan I'll be happy.

    Entune indeed!!!

I understand your point about “the next year”. But I do feel for me waiting is the right call. Save up a bit more for a down payment, and the if CarPlay isn’t offered hopefully getting a great deal on ‘18s still on the lots. If CarPlay and other improvements are made, getting a new ‘19 will be amazing I believe. But thanks for input.

Just sent an email to a local Toyota dealership about the availability of the '19 Primes.. her reply was "Late January 2019" is the anticipated release.

Just like when you were a kid waiting for xmas morning. Just don't expect a big box.

(the wait is half the fun).

Dealerships send me at least an email a day, and another has called and left messages. I’ve explained what my game plan is.

Dealership called me yesterday, said they will ask about both carplay and when pricing and ordering will be available. They said they would follow up with me.

I've always enjoyed the research, the planning, the creation of the decision of what vehicle I wanted next, maybe more than actually getting the vehicle. I certainly mostly hate walking onto a dealership lot.
Today with the internet, there are so many resources available for investigation of every vehicle possible. I find it relaxing and fun.

If you have access to transportation, and getting a vehicle isn't an immediate needed necessity? I say enjoy the anticipation.

Lets just hope they fixed all the rattles that are in the '17 & '18 Prime models. Poster Salamander King is at the dealer as we speak, having his dashboard ripped out.
