Is there a way to test / trigger radiator fan?

    Engine overheating icon / problem.

    I can see that the fan in front of the inverter is on, but the other (larger) fan in front radiator is not.

    Is there a way in maintenance mode or some other method to trigger the fan(s) to come on for testing purposes?

    Running AC set good and cold should cycle both fans off and on pretty frequently.

    See if any codes are stored.

    What is the fluid level in the radiator?

    Do not rely just on looking at the fluid level in the overflow reservoir.

    Aside from @Mendel Leisk's suggestion, there should be a “Cooling Fan” setting, to force the fan on or off, in the Active Test menu for the SFI (engine control) system in the Toyota Techstream diagnostic software.
