i would hate to lose, because the manager insists on playing his dh in a national league park, even though he is our best hitter. (who is hurt and can't hit the ball anyway)

 

okay, redeeming catch

 

My father in law is a baseball purist and would argue that there should be “no such thing” as a designated hitter.

 

i like the national league game for the speed. i'm not sure if there is a relationship, but al games take forever.

 

There is too much talking and mound visits.

They have tried limiting it, but 7 of those in a game per team still adds up.

The NL game goes faster as there is one less hitter to “gameplan” for. The pitcher is usually a bunter or easy out, which shortens other strategy early on.

Unless your Madison Bumgarner anyway.

 

i feel they are losing young people. heck, at 63, they are losing me. i watch a game at 7:00, and go to bed at 10:30 and they are still playing? way too long. and yankees red sox are the worst offenders. i love 2 hour games

 

Out here it’s only 6:45.

But if I was out east, all sports leagues are offenders. Take the Saints Vikings game that is currently at the half. That is and will be a high scoring affair, but in order to watch the ending out east, you’re committed to watching until midnight .

Makes going to work the next day tough. Super Bowls are the worst though. But some businesses recognize the Monday after as a holiday .

DVR can be your friend though.

 

it's dvr all the way for me, but i'd still rather a two hour game. i like a time clock. knowing a football game is about the same every time is great.

The only way to get that in baseball would be to enforce the timing rules they recently implemented.

Too many factors at play in an untimed game. Similar to tennis.

It’d be interesting to see a timed inning, but not sure how that’d work.

My I keep an open mind woth shortening the game as an excellent goal.

 

LA still has 9 outs remaining.

Stranger things have happened. If te last time the Saints Vikings played one another in the playoffs, a similar thing could have been said about te vikkngs chances. But a USA hockey style miracle happened.
