I have had my prius prime for 2 days. I cant get Entune to work at all. I downloaded it and linked bluetooth - but when i go to the app in my car, it says i need an account - but there is no way to add my account!? I made an account online - but once again in the app or car no place to put the account.

I hate the interface and its making me angry. Is there a mute button for the sound?

How do i turn off the BEEPING NOISE WHEN I BACK UP!?

How does the AC button on my remote work on my car?

Open the Entune App. On the main screen lower right corner is the settings “gear”. Select that and plug in your credentials in the “My Account” at top.
I have an iPhone so can only speak to that.

You can change the backup to a single beep.
Ask your dealer or for the cost of a OBD dongle do it your self.
I went with Carista but there are other solutions.
    http://Www.caristaapp.com

Press and hold the “Mode” button on the steering wheel to mute. Press and hold again to unmute”.
This one is in the manual.

This, along with a host of other informative stuff, can be found in the manuals that are probably in your glove compartment. Tons of info, a little tough to slog through, but definitely worth it.

BTW, Entune isn't worth the effort, IMO...

    Welcome!

Congrats on your new prime, sorry for your troubles

It pays to read the manual, at least the pertinent sections

Unfortunately, entune is a poor system. You can find plenty of complaints here.

Use the search function to find threads that may have answers to these and future questions.

    All the best!(y)

The quickest method is to take it to the dealer and demand they turn it off.

If the dealer will not do it for free, you need a new dealer.

Massachusetts Toyota Dealerships | Find a Toyota Dealer in Massachusetts

There are dedicated android apps, that need a OBDII to bluetooth adapter to work.

As an example, it may also work on IOS, but android is what I tried, software was Torque Pro

Torque Pro (OBD 2 & Car) - Apps on Google Play

I use a Scangauge II as I miss 'car guy' gauges, but it is not cheap.

Open entune on your phone add your data there, the car isn't the computer, it's just passing on the phones info, I agree, entune isn't worth the trouble, Pandora from the phone to the car works great and is free.
Carista is 20$ and comes with a free week of adjustments, then you can buy it for a week or by the year, it works in hondas also, it offers all kinds of tweeks, including registering tpms data, so if you have snow wheels, carista is worth the $.

$20 gets you the one month of Carista free trial and the ODB dongle. Way more time than I needed.

Until car makers start using software that updates regulary over an internet connection the way Tesla does it, you have to consider it dead/useless technology. The auto industry has no idea what it's doing when it comes to keeping software compatible and current and a two day old car that doesn't work sums it up perfectly. And if you take it back to the dealer they will only be able to replace hardware, not rework issues with software. So if you want your bluetooth and Entune-like services to be functional your only option is to return the car for a full refund and buy a Tesla.

    I almost agree.
But I feel OTA update capability makes the car a hacking target.
Lots of smart bad actors out there.

Then there’s always the possibility of a update that fails and your car is bricked.
A $1000 phone is one thing a tens of thousand dollar car is something else.

The back up beep is a bandage patch by Toyota: the car has a "clever" joystick shifter that returns to center, regardless of what gear you're in, giving none of the visual cues that a traditional shifter has. Accordingly, people are prone to lose track of what gear they're in, step on the gas expecting to go one direction, but go the other direction, with results ranging from hilarious to deadly.

The beep is Toyota's way of saying "You're in Reverse, You're in Reverse, You're in...". That would actually be better, I'd like that. It just might be effective. Of course up here you'd also need "Vous êtes en sens inverse"...

Even more effective: a traditional shifter, one that holds position. I never got muddled with those. The Toyota shifter, yeah I have got muddled, at least a couple of times: the beep does it's thing, but I don't make connection. I don't think most people do, they just get ticked by the noise. A lot of people don't even know it's purpose, speculate as to why it's on the inside, not outside. Anyhoo...

Curious. My car shows a boxed R on the dash when in reverse. It is not located in front of the driver, though.

Nonsense, my 15 ram ecodiesel has automatic cellular updates (OTA), and the op's problems aren't nessessarily Toyota problems, the beep can be turned off with aftermarket apps, like Carista, and Entune is a user installed and adjusted app, in 19' Toyota offers carplay.

The bolt has over the air updates,GMC offers vehicles with (OTA) updates, it would seem Tesla isn't the only vehicle that has (OTA) updates.

    Ford uses (OTA) updates.
    Mercedes uses (OTA) updates.
The Audi etron has (OTA) updates.

It seems the auto industry has evey idea about what it's doing when it comes to keeping software compatable and current....

I've had my Prime 3 months now and was comfortable with the shifter until ...
I was using parking assist and it told me to go forward and I subconsciously
moved the shifter "forward/up" which was wrong.
Fortunately the backup warning beep AND and on screen pop-up chastised me
for my error and the Prius would not let me go the wrong direction.
Pretty good thinking on the part of Toyota engineers IMO.

Yeah 3rd gen has the same thing: a column of letters (PRNDB), and a lit square that shows the current gear selection. Same location too.

Maybe I need an alert like the "Cash Cab".
