Carista, an obd2 tool lets you register new tpms and make many custom settings for lights, and locks and allows you to adjust things the dealer can adjust($), scangauge2 another obd2 tool reads the tpms realtime for tire pressure and lots of other information, replacement tpms sensors are 20ish dollars.

Or buy a system, take off all four tires, mount the new valve stems, mount the tires and live with the tpms sensor glowing red on the dash, and buy another set of sensors, hopefully, that will work with your aftermarket kit for your snow wheels.

But, the tpms sensors from toyota work fine, if the sensor goes off, you have a flat or low tire, as most people check and top off their air monthly, the factory sensors are adequate.

I’m using a Scangauge II to monitor tire pressure and temp plus a few other reading from the engine and batteries. You can use it to read and clear trouble codes as well. Check out Scangauge II web site and look at the X-gauge Commands that you can program to read. Amazon has them for $132 right now.

Edit: I don't know why Amazon wont let me link the Scangauge II in the Frustration Free package as its cheaper than the regular package.

 

I purchased external TPMS to monitor real time tire pressure on my PRIME. I bought it to use on winter tires + rims which have no TPMS, but have been trying on OEM tires with TPMS. The sensor that goes on the valves are big and ugly, but works 100% better than OEM TPMS for actually monitoring real time psi in each tires, the accuracy is within 1 psi of OEM TPMS value. At about $50, it's cheaper than Scanguage, and use no wire to worry about (with solar power unit). The biggest problem is the durability of the sensors. As they are cheaply made, the quality of unit is bit questionable. I had to return the first unit after a few weeks when one sensor quits working, and second set I bought for another car is now malfunctioning. New set on PRIME is working fine for now. If they last a few years, it's still cheaper than buying set of internal TPMS and installing on winter tires.

 

You can turn the light control swtich on the left stalk to DRL off. That will disable all lights. Great for sneaking in/out of campground late or early, in EV mode, without disturbing other campers.
