Has anyone had this problem. This morning I use the defroster the heat up the car for a while. When I got in the car the car is very hot. When I engaged the car on e v mode to leave the yellow triangle light was flashing interior lights flash for a second and on my dashboard was a graphic of the trunk of the car with the hybrid battery and something round in the back of the graphic flashing red. It would happen now and then as I was driving. Turned off EV mode and went to complete I.C.E. mode and it continued. I've never seen that before. When I saw graphic of the hybrid battery flashing red. Park the car for a while and started again and it continued on and off for a while. When I arrived at the grocery store and by and time got into my car and started driving there was no more sign of the yellow triangle and the red battery graphic flashing. It was strange beside the hybrid battery graphic flash driver and passengers reading light was flashing too. Going to take it in tomorrow and see what's going on. I have 23,000 miles on it and it's two years old.

He have same PRIME Premium as I do. On manual starting pg188 shows various "Warning Lights". I can't find what OP is describing as "graphic of the trunk of the car with the hybrid battery"

In addition to the 'idiot' lights, warning graphics will also get displayed on the screen.

Yeah, all the warning lights that get displayed on MID is listed on the manual, but I still can not find the one that fits OP's description.

I looked it up too and couldn't find anything. The only thing the manual says if the light flashes two to take it into Toyota. I think you're right it's a glitch or a battery overheated. I believe by time I got to the grocery store and it was 33 degrees out and must have cool down. Like I said I think because I had the defroster on the car for a while and got really hot that might have overheated the battery. I'm telling you it was strange the lights Fl kept flashing with a graphic or jpeg of the battery and possible the the heat pump. It did Flash red and the interior lights for the passenger and drivers reading light came on. I'll let you guys know when I take it into Toyota for a a look at.

I wonder if the back door (hatch) wasn’t completely closed, or there was a problem with the back door courtesy light switch or its circuit. This would account for the interior lights and graphic display.

To confirm this, you could put the car in READY (but with the shift position in P and the parking brake set), open the back door, and see if the display is similar to the one you saw while driving.

Sound like visit to a dealer is warranted. You said "a graphic or jpeg", so was the warning on 11.6 LCD and not on MID? You earlier said the warning sign was on dash, so I assume it was on MID. Even if the warning was a glitch, car would not display graphic icon that is not has not been programed, so it is still strange that we can not find the warning sign you saw by looking up the manual. The sign must have been programmed to be displayed for some reason. In any case, please let us know what you find out at a dealer.Good luck.

    My bet?
I don't think it's overheated battery. The vehicle is designed it to be parked in the sun. Interior cabin temperatures in situations like that, are going to be a lot hotter than you could ever make it, on a winter morning running the defroster.

    My bet?
    Some totally separate problem.
Might be Hybrid Battery related but I somehow doubt you heated the vehicle up so much with your defroster, that the Hybrid battery failed. Almost a new vehicle so if your Hybrid Battery is failing...it's something abnormal. Too new to be failing unless it has manufacturing defect or you have some problem with the wiring etc...

I'm not familiar with any of the warning lights or graphics of a Prius Prime.
And even within this thread, some trouble tracking down the exact graphics described.
    But basically?
If you've got warning lights flashing on an off, Yellow Triangle..etc, etc...
on a vehicle with less than 30,000 miles and only 2 years old?
Going to get it checked out...is the best first move.

Let us know what they discover.

Well the good news is not the battery. I bought it in and it seems that there are no codes but the gentleman told me that it looks like it's just the picture of the trunk warning that is open. He said if it was the battery the car wouldn't start and when it did the Diagnostics nothing showed up. The video shows it flashing repeatedly. The technician told me that we keep an eye on it and if it happens again just let them know they couldn't recreate it so it wasn't the battery even though I thought it was from the picture. Ask him how do you know if your battery is going bad he says your car won't start. Other friends tell me that all the idiot light starts flashing that's a warning sign. 20181121_081220.jpeg
