:raises hand: I have NiMH and so do most of the new Hybrid Camry owners.

Yea... 360 camera`s is especially something i was expecting... Its getting so normal now, if i got this car id just install a set myself from ebay. Even tho i know thats not a job for the people that normally buys cars like this. It should have had it.
The aygo has carplay lol, no idea why the face lift prius doesnt...
I think the corolla has taken over the "flagship" spot now, the auris have sold way better then the prius ever since launch here in Norway. The prius doesnt even have the full version intelligent parking assist anymore, the Auris got that in 2016, now th eprius has the simple intelligent parking assist while Auris has the full version. I think the same with the safety sense, most likely the Gen 5 will get the 2L hybrid option, 360 camera, safety sense 3.0 or whatever the heck its gonna be called and all that to save the model sales, cause i dont think this prius will sell that well, i really like the front deisgn, but personally, if i were to get a 4th gen, id just get a 2016 and put the front of the face lift on it. I prefer the front of the new one, but i really like the rear of the current one lol. Even tho i also like the new ones taillights...
And heated F`ing steering wheel! even the Kia Picanto from 2013 has heated steering wheel! How does non of the normal sized toyota`s not have that...

And yea, lol, the crowd was dead... Must have been zombies... Espeically at the "lets count down together" and he counted by himself LMAO.

There are some drawbacks with Lithium based batteries over NiMH, which become more of a problem when you scale up from phone size batteries to hybrid batteries.

So Lithium cells have a higher energy density, are lighter, and you can safely user a greater range of it's real capacity (i.e. 20% to 90%, rather than 30% to 80%). All great advantages when it comes to hybrids and EVs, but...

They're also very heat sensitive (poor charging efficiency and can't provide much current below around 10C). They damage easily with relatively modest temperature increases too, which is why most Lithium based vehicles have a liquid cooling system. I suspect these are the main reasons why the AWD, appealing to snowy areas, is going to use NiMH. Lithium cells also tend to die very suddenly, with little to no warning, stranding drivers. They're a highly unstable chemistry, which physically damage very easily, and tend to be extremely dangerous when physically damaged (think fires, explosions, and toxic smoke, from moderate crashes).

While is I'd choose LiPo for my phones and laptops every time, I'd go with NiMH every time for hybrids just for the safety aspect. For full EVs I'd probably want the range from a LiPo.

Has anyone noticed that the heated seat controls have moved?? :)

They're now between the cupholders and the Qi Wireless Pad instead of the buried at the bottom of the centre console stack by the floor.

Also, the steering wheel accents are now piano black, along with the shifter panel and cupholders.

Lastly, it looks like the AWD-e versions have blue contrast stitching.

That means, no more Touring models??? I didn't see any mention of them.

I like my matte black console better. Piano Black is a dust attractor.

Yup. I'm ok with it in the steering wheel and maybe the shifter surround but that large panel that extends to the passenger side and the cupholder area should be something else. They're large enough pieces to see the dust particles and fingerprints.

I want the lower steering wheel trim in matte black. All that I have seen are piano black.

Nope. The UK (and I think all Euro) Gen4 is NiMH.

    Not sure about the Prime.

interesting, thanks. your weather is generally milder than ours, but we got mostly li-on.

mine are li-on, and so far, so good after 6 1/2 years and 60,000 miles.

In the US only the PiP was Li-Ion until 2016 Gen 4.

right, referring to prof's damning of li-on in cars and his 2017

and arguing that it has worked out well here since 2012 in the pip

It's possible - but seems to be a very small lamp - though it's got mirror repeaters.

I don't like a lot of cars which have squeezed them into little gaps - often get lost among the other lights.
