Looks like the Camry will be down 40k this year, or 100k from a peak 3 years ago. 2017 is the first year that Rav4 sales exceeded Camry, and already exceed it by 60k this year. Last gen Rav is beating the greatly improved, brand new Camry. 2019, the Rav will have those improvements.

The story is repeated for the Accord and CR-V, and with the Malibu and Equinox.

Small SUVs are taking over the midsize sedan market share. The numbers for some sedans are still impressive, only if you ignore their past amounts.

But the Malibu isn't being cancelled. The Impala is, and its sales have taken a nose dive. Goodcarbadcar has 0 for October sales. 2018 might not even get to half of 2016 numbers. The Taurus dropped even worse. The Avalon's numbers aren't that great either; the Impala outsells it. Without the ES to share costs and help prop it up, the Avalon may have gone the way of the Impala and Taurus. Still may considering the combine sales of it and the ES likely won't reach 90k this year.

The Cruze sedan once outsold the Malibu, but its, and the Focus', numbers have been dropping over the past few years, and those total include the hatchback sales. The Corolla numbers have also been dropping, they've just started from a much higher point than the other two.

In the Model 3's case, there is pent up demand for a long range BEV with charging infrastructure. Then it doesn't have a SUV competitor. Ignoring Tesla's issues with logistics, the Model Y would have done better if it had arrived first. There will likely be a drop in Model 3 sales when it does arrive.

    And what an ending.

Offsides decides the last play .

But as a Steelers fan, typical Mike Tomlin game to a “T”.

Maybe we’ll go the route of the Packers:whistle:.

This Steelers fan is holding out hope for that(y).

2nd offsides - 0 seconds on clock, ball is blocked, and defense penalty, replay last down but another 5 yards closer.

couldn't agree more. not sure what model y is going to be, but if model 3 had been a small hatch, i would have been on the waiting list. i haven't driven a sedan in 14 years, except y wife's, who still prefers them.

Since I got rid of the Allante and the Vettes, all I ever drive are sedans.

Like those that drive a manual, you will become a minority at this rate.

Technically, a hatchback, but it is built on a line that predominately makes sedans.

While the factories that makes these models are closing is a bad sign, has GM formerly announced that the models in question will be cancelled in the US?

The specs look good just I was looking at cars I have versus the Volt and not a general survey. BTW, I did test drive an Ioniq Blue which has a stepped transmission.

My understanding is in EV mode, the Ioniq still shifts between a subset of the gears. Being fond of the Toyota eCVT and single gear BMW i3-REx, I'm not fond of gear shifts. Still, my personal preference and understand others may not care or even like it.

Looking at the current offering of new plug-in hybrids, I surveyed the 2018-2019 models. I left the Volt out:
